As popular places for good shashlik, this restaurant and Bobur Shashilik often come up in recommendations.
In reviews from 2024, it was mentioned that Shashilik No.1 was more expensive. However, when I visited both places in September 2025, I found that Bobur Shashilik was actually more expensive. Since Bobur has an English menu, it might have tourist pricing.
The service at Bobur was also poor, and on top of that, the service charge was 15%, whereas Shashilik No.1 charged 10%.
Shashilik No.1 didn’t have an English menu, so there were fewer tourists, but you can easily order using a translation app. I sat in the garden area, where there were chickens and cats around.
The seasoning was a bit on the salty side, but the meat was very tasty, and since there weren’t many customers, the food came out without much wait. Overall, I think this place offers great value...
