I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I feel it’s necessary to do so—both for other customers and for the staff at 2 Ladies Kitchen.
We placed a delivery order and got vegetarian spring rolls and shrimp spring rolls. Unfortunately, the portions were very small.
The shrimp spring rolls were especially disappointing. The shrimp pieces were tiny and wrapped in something completely tasteless—it had a porous, sponge-like texture, almost like a scrubber. I have no idea what it was, but it didn’t look or taste healthy. It was over-fried in oil, with a dry and unpleasant texture. I had to open each roll and take out the tiny shrimp inside.
As for the vegetarian spring rolls, they were not bad in terms of flavor, but the size was ridiculous—each one was as small as my little finger, with so little filling that it was hard to even taste it properly.
I have had spring rolls from another place before, and while they unfortunately don’t serve them anymore, their rolls were big, delicious, and worth the price. I was hoping to find a new place with great spring rolls, but based on the reviews, this restaurant seems to specialize in banh mi sandwiches—and I guess that’s what they do best, because their spring rolls were a complete failure.
Another issue was the packaging. The spring rolls were packed in huge plastic containers, which was completely unnecessary. This restaurant clearly does not care about the environment. On top of that, the containers were filled with an excessive amount of lettuce—there was three times more lettuce than actual spring rolls! It looked like I had ordered a salad rather than spring rolls.
Thank you for the complimentary drink—my son really enjoyed it, though for me, it was way too sweet. But I can see that others might like it.
Unfortunately, my overall experience with this restaurant was terrible. I was very hungry and excited for my order, but in the end, I was left unsatisfied and still hungry. I didn’t take any pictures because, as I mentioned, I was starving and had no...
Read moreI came here on several occasions and it did not disappointed me.
The first time I ordered a beef sandwich with a mango smoothie (no sugar; Second time a chicken banh mi, coconut coffee and a mango smoothie (no sugar); Third time a tuna banh mi with a coconut coffee and a smoothie.
I have to say that the beef sandwich was a bit of a miss since the beef was more muscle and of poor quality beef. It was quite hard to eat since it felt like you couldn't chew through that.
The chicken banh mi was absolutely amazing and full of flavour. The crust of the bread was nice and crunchy, the ingredients in there had just enough of everything and the sauce made it come together very well.
The tuna banh mi was something I have never seen on a menu and was more of average quality. It tasted nice, but nothing out of the ordinary, I am however happy I tried this. The tuna sandwich did have plenty of ingredients and definitely has to be eaten with a plate/wooden board because it can get quite messy.
The mango smoothies are made with a type of milk that makes it taste a little different, yet not bad. I do still prefer the mango and ice mixed smoothies over the milk ones.
The coconut coffee (and other types) are really good here and I definitely recommend this cafe if you are a coffee enthusiast.
What I personally love about this place is that this cafe gives people with a hearing and/or speaking disability a place to work and interact with others. They might not be able to speak back to you, but they truly have an eye for service and without words they are able to help you perfectly!
I would recommend this place for its banh mi's and coffee's, not so much their sandwiches. They also provide you with a glass of lemonade every time you come by and order something, this drink is on the house.
I enjoyed my breakfasts here and...
Read moreUpdate to answer the shop feedback Why did you reheat the Banh Mi 3 times? The chicken most likely was spoiled. This is NOT how to handle a business and food safety practices. Quite surprised you even admitting it, at least...a proof my review is legit.
Believe me, there won't be a second time. 👋 Delivery was very late, but I thought to be a good sign (busy because it's good!).
But no, this is the #1 worst banh mi I had in Vietnam. Also the other options on grab suck, but this is the absolute worst!! The best and real quality ones are found on the street, unfortunately, and no delivery.
The packaging was smelling bad, not sure it's the paper you wrap the bread with or the plastic bag. Overall I wasted 100k and time, I only ate the bread as the chicken was tasting really funny. Very upset when you're hungry and have high expectations.
PS: also I'm sorry but you can't really trust foreigners reviews (feel free to not trust mine either and waste your money) but I wonder if they have ever actually tried an ACTUAL PROPERLY MADE BΑΝΗ ΜΙ.
Good point: coffee was good even tho the cup is empty of coffee but full of ice, so very little few sips and then it's all ice, and complimentary juice (appreciated).
I really hate to leave such reviews as I always try to find whatever possible to score right, but this was just a total fail. First...
