Banh cuon is actually a north Vietnamese dish but not as well known as the perennial pho and/or bun cha. It is a favorite of mine, esp. for breakfast but disappointly scarse in central VN. A friend referred me to this place and while not as tasty as some banh cuon I have had, certainly hit the spot. Thank God for Mrs Hung and her popular little restaurant.

Traditional Banh Cuon from the region. Uncle helped us out as we didn’t know what to order, but brought out a selection of goodies. Wonderful thin rice-sheets with minced pork and floss, covered in fried shallots. Sweet Chili and fish sauce. Pickled vegetables. Steamed and fried pork cakes. Lots of locals digging into the same menu.

Banh Cuon is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and I had to stop to try it when walking past. My only regret is getting the small rather than the large! Also took home a box of the fried shallots that are infinitely better than the factory produced ones that you find at the supermarket.

70 Years of Rolling Tradition — Tiến Hưng, 190 Trần Phú

I thought I was just stopping for breakfast. But what I walked into was a quiet memory, carefully kept for 70 years.

Bánh cuốn — soft, thin, fragrant with rice. Crispy shallots, savory pork floss, thick-cut chả lụa — all made the old way. Pickled vegetables just tart enough to round out the flavors. And a cold glass of soy milk — light on the stomach, warm on the soul.

The sign’s been up for decades. But the real story lives in the rhythm behind the counter, the steam rising each morning, and the hands that never rushed.

Tiến Hưng — seventy years, no shortcuts, no compromises. Where every rice sheet is a lesson in craft, and every bowl tells you: they’ve done this a thousand times, and still care like it’s the first.

Some places don’t shout to be known. They whisper. And if you’re lucky enough to hear it — you remember.

— Vlad, grateful...

Lovely bánh cuốn, if a little pricey just for steamed rice rolls with some toppings. Soft, silky texture and flavorful.

Went there for dinner and the lady boss was friendly and accommodating despite our poor pronunciation when trying to order. Thank you, auntie!

I can't say the same for the sullen-faced younger waitresses who were pointedly not serving us because we couldn't speak Vietnamese when we wanted to get some drinks (the lotus milk / soybean looked good) and could point to what we wanted on the menu. Really? Instead, they went back behind the counter to play games on their phone, and were telling other waitresses behind us to not serve us as well. No spirit of customer service at all from the younger girls at this place.

If you're not local and visiting, please talk to the older auntie lady boss to order. The younger waitresses will leave a bad taste...

One of if not the best bánh cuốn/ breakfast restaurant in Đà Nẵng. This is a fast food joint in every sense of the word. You should be able to grab a fulfilling meal for less than ten bucks and finish it under fifteen minutes. Unlike the American style fast foods, Bánh cuốn Tiến Hưng actually makes delicious foods. Their sausage is homemade as well as the bánh cuốn and its fillings. Living in Đà Nẵng means that one should enjoy eating here at least 7...
