CASH ONLY. Not advised by anyone that paying by card was an issue in advance. Have been to this bar several times prior and always been fine to use card. This last visit when asking for the bill to pay they advised cash only. Asked more questions and ascertained fairly quickly the machine was just turned off and they just wanted patrons to pay cash. I didn't have an ATM card with me so super painful trying to work through this with a manager and team members who had no capacity to resolve the issue. Place is rough anyway so wont bother going back (other than to pay the bill), just disappointing the attitude and communication of the manager and bar team. Plenty of better places to eat / drink in Danang - don't waste your time.
Update: went back and paid the bill by card. Spoke to another manager who advised they did turn the card machine off manually - they pick and choose to save a few dollars. They also stung me 5% Cc surcharge which is a solid 1.5% above every other...
Read moreBamboo is such a staple of Da Nang. I've been coming here since 2015 and really couldn't imagine this city without it. The view of the dragon Bridge from the patio is amazing. The people watching is great. The seating area is big enough to fit a lot of people once you realize you can sit upstairs, downstairs and outside.
I suppose I shoupd mention, the food is great. For the longest time, they served the only real burger in Vietnam. Now a days, there are quite a few places that serve good hamburgers, but back in the day this was really the only spot.
Bamboo 2 caters to the Aussie crowd. You'll find the flag flying in front and a steady stream of ACDC playing inside. (Not all the time, but a lot) which is fine with me.
The seafood is fresh, the burgers are fantastic, the staff is friendly and professional, and the view is second to none. Bamboo 2 is the perfect place to drink some time away and have a blast...
Read moreMy father-in law and I were looking for bars to watch some sport on a Saturday evening in Da Nang, and we came across Bamboo 2 Bar. What a fantastic little bar!
Lovely, relaxed atmosphere with fantastic and friendly service. We sat inside and parked ourselves close to the TVs downstairs. The bar staff were very friendly and turned on the A-League (Australian soccer) Grand Final on one screen, AFL Football on another and NRL Rugby league on another.
I also had my seven year old daughter with me. The bar atmosphere was pleasant, so I had no issues with her staying in the bar with us and the other friendly patrons. She had a 7-Up and some fries(I pinched some off her - they were delicious), and she was “as happy as Larry” across the 2 hours we were there.
The couple of beers on tap were nice and the prices were great.
I...
