[TIẾNG VIỆT BÊN DƯỚI] Okay food. Bad service. Staff isn't well trained, this might be the fault of management. There were no arrangements in the service, everything is chaotic. Food came slow. Drink even slower. Some tables order after us got served before us. And this is during noon of a Wednesday, not even dinner, not even weekend.
P/S.1: I add this part because of your response was incorrectly reflect the situation, hence, I will substract 1 star from the original review. Your restaurant only had 2 staff to take care the whole floor, which is NOT dedicated to my only table. They worked in a frantic way, running all over the place. Your staff brought the beginning dishes to our table after the other arriving later tables. Your staff nearly forgot our drinks, only brought the drinks to our table after being reminded (almost immediately after we reminded, which got me thinking why we waited for so long for the drink when they was brought right after we complained). When bringing the drink to the table, your staff didn't bring the full drink amount we ordered but forgot some. We ordered extra condiments, which never came. Your reply showed clearly how lack of professionalism and lack of responsibility right from the Management level for admitting the fault in service, so I highly doubt that you would change in the future.

Will not return
I have chosen to edit this review as the response of the owner is trying to blame “mắm tôm” for the reason that I found this experience disappointing. This is both a very ignorant and impolite way to address negative feedback from a paying customer. You’re making an assumption that this review is based on the fact that I am a foreigner, therefore in your mind that must be the reason I didn’t like the food.
Let me elaborate.
I have lived in Vietnam for around 14-15 years, spending around a decade living in Hanoi.
Chả cá lã vọng is one of my favourite dishes and finding this place was really quite exciting for me.
The staff were very unprofessional and non attentive, upon paying my bill I found the girl wearing the red Áo Dài exceptionally impolite. I asked to pay with a QR code and was pointed to go to the counter. Sure.
She proceeded to shout at another employee across the restaurant right next to my ear.
The music is a terrible collection of what one would find if you were put on hold while trying to call a bank.
Prices, definitely not cheap, but what I would consider fair considering the overall feel of the restaurant.
The food, terrible. Absolutely no flavour at all and nothing like you would experience in a place specialising in this in Hà Nội.
Portions are quite small, and the quality of the fish is sub standard. It didn’t taste fresh at all.
The problems lie with the staff, their attitude and with the quality of the food that is being served.
This place has potential but I stand by my original review.
If you want decent food, go somewhere else. This attempt at Chả Cá is very disappointing.
The restaurant is nice, but the food and the service is...
Read moreIf you’re looking to experience authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of Da Nang, Chả Cá Hà Nội Ngư Phố is a must-visit. This spot brings the legendary chả cá Lã Vọng from Hanoi all the way to the Central coast—and they do it justice.
The moment you walk in, the place gives off a cozy, family-style vibe. Service is fast, friendly, and efficient. The staff takes time to explain the traditional way to enjoy the dish, which is part of the experience itself.
The star of the show is, of course, the chả cá—turmeric-marinated fish sizzling on a hot pan, cooked right at your table with fresh dill and green onions. It’s served with cold vermicelli noodles, roasted peanuts, fresh herbs, and a rich fermented shrimp paste (mắm tôm) or fish sauce if you’re not as adventurous. The fish is tender, flavorful, and beautifully balanced with the herbs and condiments.
They also offer a variety of Northern-style sides and beverages that complement the meal well.
💬 Highlights: – Authentic flavor, just like in Hanoi – Fresh ingredients and generous portions – Great for small groups or a casual dinner
📍 Conveniently located and easy to find, it’s a perfect stop after a day exploring the city.
If you’re craving something different from the typical Central Vietnamese cuisine, Chả Cá Hà Nội Ngư Phố is a delicious detour worth taking. Highly recommended for foodies and anyone wanting a true taste of...
