This is a local place offering a variety of seafood dishes. There is an inside room but they didn't turn the air conditioning on and it was hotter than the outside seating. It was unpleasant sitting outside in the heat.
The menu has a lot of options. The large lobsters are more expensive than other nicer places (230k per 100g vs. 200k/100g). Small lobsters are affordable at 135k I think. There are oysters, clams, razor clams, and even grilled uni.
When you order double check and triple check your order with the waiter. We asked for razor clams with the lemongrass chili sauce but they brought us regular clams. They replaced it without an issue but it was still a hassle considering I made sure he knew what we wanted.
We got a large lobster 1.1kg, half steamed and half in butter sauce. We also ordered 1kg of raw oysters about 10 pieces, razor clams in lemongrass chili sauce, two grilled uni, 300g small steamed squid and 400g of mantis shrimp.
The lobster in butter sauce was just okay. The grilled uni was unique but also just okay. The other dishes were good. They present the dishes and let you take a picture before taking them to cut for you. They didn't completely deshell the lobster or mantis shrimp like some other places so it was still messy to eat. A few of the oysters were gritty also not completely shucked and still connected to the shell, which made it hard to eat with chopsticks.
If you come for big lobster, this place charges almost 15% more than other places. It's not worth it in my opinion.
The total bill for 3 people with all the above food and 3 waters came to 3270k. We went to a nice, more modern place the night before and it came to 3550k. So a difference of about $12 but we got a bigger lobster, properly shucked oysters, better flavors, good air conditioning and clean...
Read moreGood local seafood dining option. Food is good, service is good (in Vietnamese style), price is transparent and reasonable. It's quite noisy with rowdy crowd as at a typical local eating + drinking place, but still acceptable and can be considered good vibe. Located near the center of My Khe beach, so it's convenient to get the transport there.
Some recommended dishes: steamed squid with eggs (local delicacy), steamed big squid, grilled fish, stir fried Hoi An tiny mussel (a little spicy), abalone porridge. The local sea urchin has little meat inside - so manage your expectation if you order sea urchins. Oysters are okay-ish only, but very cheap.
Lobsters in the menu are listed at very low fixed price - need to check if they're live lobsters or not (probably not, which will affect the taste). Otherwise, better go with live lobsters in the tank which weigh at 500 gram and sold at...
Read moreI would definitely recommend. I wasn’t sure how much of some things to order by 100gr (I’ll Google for next time) so I ordered a couple of things by the plate…
Had octopus with tamarind sauce and stir fried clams with chili/lemongrass sauce. If you order some rice, I would recommend ordering two or three plates of seafood, would be great for two people to share. The sauces (yum!) and seafood were both very good!
The sea urchin with egg I was not wow-ed by— sea urchin is my favorite (raw) sushi, so I was looking forward to trying this grilled dish, but honestly all I could taste was egg and the spice? It was fine, but I wouldn’t order it again.
Overall, I wasn’t sure what to expect with a sign that says “cheap seafood” and “we’ll refund your money if you don’t like” but I look forward to trying some other things on their menu next time— and its a great place for family or a group...
