I want to express my deep gratitude to the chefs and staff of this café for a wonderful gastronomic experience!
First of all, their banh mi with smoked tofu and carrots is an absolute must-try! The flavor, the balance of textures, and the seasoning are just perfect. If you ever visit Da Nang, make sure to try it—you won’t find anything like it anywhere else!
Overall, the food here is very tasty. I especially loved the pumpkin soup—smooth, rich, and with the option to add extra tempeh, which made it even better. The salads are also nice; some I liked more than others.
A few things that could be improved: • The oat pancakes were a bit too dense in texture. I’m not sure what exactly needs adjusting, but they could be lighter and fluffier. They were served with dragon fruit jam (which was delicious), a small portion of fresh fruit, and additional toppings like chia pudding, nuts, and peanut butter. While the flavors were good, these extra toppings made the dish feel too heavy. A lighter, fruitier combination might work better. • The desserts felt overly rich due to an excess of coconut oil. Having lived in Bali and worked as a raw food chef, I know how raw desserts should taste, and the cheesecakes here were too dense. A lighter texture would make them more enjoyable. • The matcha latte with coconut milk wasn’t the best I’ve had. I finished it, but it wasn’t particularly enjoyable.
That being said, this café still deserves 5 stars! Their banh mi is outstanding, many dishes are truly well-prepared, and the prices are reasonable. Definitely...

There's LOTS to say about this place that became one of my go to places in DaNang. I'm glad that I got past the not so pretty and inviting building facade.... That I got past the first two visits, where the orders too eternity and beyond to arrive, even when the restaurant was relatively empty and other guests that arrived and ordered after me, where getting their food.
What I can say is this: if, by any chance, you get a subpar service, don't come here to bash the business. Give them another chance (or two), and I'm sure that you'll be happy that you did! Plus, the food and drinks are awesome anyway, so you're not really missing much 😉
With that said, KURUMI serves some of the best food - period. It's higher priced than traditional places (especially compared to Vietnamese food), but the quality of the food is excellent. Plus, for most westerners and foreigners, it's still absurdly affordable compared to their home countries.
The service is great, and I felt that similarly to other Vietnamese people that I met, the true personality only came out after I became a regular. Once that happened, going to KURUMI was like going to a relative's home, where you're greeted with open arms, a smile and great food is waiting.
Thank YOU to all the staff 🫶🏻 In my absent mindness of the last few days in DaNang, I didn't take the time to get your names, I apologize for that. 😞 I hope to make it up when I return, hopefully some time next year 🙏🏻
Wishing you continuing success and health. See you...
Read moreI'm love with Kurumi. The food here is beyond delicious, it’s the kind of food that makes you slow down and just smile with every bite. I had the pumpkin soup, the tiramisu pie, and the Russian candy, and each one of them felt like a little masterpiece.
The pumpkin soup was pure magic. Every flavor pulled me deeper into relaxation, and the way the basil and the fermented cashew cream tied it all together was just unforgettable. I could taste the care in every spoonful.
And then the desserts, oh my goodness! The tiramisu pie and Russian candy are honestly the best vegan desserts I’ve had in the entire city. I savored every layer of the tiramisu, every little nuance, and it was heavenly. The Russian candy was rich and smooth, the perfect finish. Even the way everything smelled was intoxicating, before I even took a bite, the aroma had me hooked.
The atmosphere is just as beautiful as the food. Soft, soothing songs play in the background, the tables are spaced out so you never feel crowded, and the whole space feels calm and easy. From the moment I opened the door, the staff welcomed me so gently that I felt at home right away. And stepping into the cool air inside after being out in the heat felt like the biggest relief.
Kurumi isn’t just a restaurant, it feels like an embrace. Every detail, from the food to the music to the kindness of the staff, touched me. I will be back...
