My experience at Rang was beyond exceptional. I was so impressed the first time, I had to go for a second time in my short visit here in Danang. Food - For starters they have a modern contemporary twist to traditional Indian dishes, they all seemed very exciting . We tried the vietnamese rice paper rolls filled with paneer and a dipping of mint sauce. It was just a brilliant combination and surprisingly worked so well. They also have traditional tandoori kebabs, like the chicken sheesh kebab, served with a refreshing slaw. The curries were nothing but amazingly spot on. They exceeded my expectations. The palak paneer, malai kofta and chicken tikka masala were indeed amazing, nothing like I have had before, and I have had many of the same dishes elsewhere. Be sure to try their mango lassi, it's very refreshing. For flat breads we had the roomali roti, jalapeno naan and tandoori naan, all were in their own right breads done right. Staff - what made our experience more amazing was the staff. They were very professional and welcoming. The head chef Sonu, his wife, manager Aman and wait staff were very attentive to our dietary requirements and were full off recommendations and knowledge. We had a chat with the head chef and his passion and experience are clear through the food he has created. In general the energy that ran through the staff was great, they were on their toes at all time and their was no lapse in their service even though we went on a very busy Sunday night. Ambience - nothing like I have seen, it felt like a 5 star dining experience. Traditional Vietnamese architecture, with modern indian colourful art work all around, and lighting to set the mood for a fabulous dinner ahead. I would recommend this restaurant very highly, and being indian and having tried so many indian restaurants around the world, including within India itself, this one certainly is one of my favourites. They have really created something special and I hope to revisit it...

Came with high expectations... there was no one to greet on entry, and you walk straight into the dining room on entraance which is quite odd. Then staff scramble to greet you. There weren't enough seats to table placements, one party to our dinner left because of this despite being pre-booked. The chai was not balanced even after it was flagged and remade. Some of the dishes were not authentic, definitely tailored to western palates, and no extra chilli sauce on request to liven up the chicken bhuna even after id salted it to death. Spice levels were not ascertained on ordering either. The raita to the biryani was served to the wrong end of the table and so was consumed by others thinking it was for the table, then there was a good 5-10min wait for another to come out on request after service tried to retrieve the half empty pot from the other side of the table. The service forgot to ask how we'd like the courses brought out on a mixed order table and so they came out wrong and had to be sent back because the table was full and literally couldn't hold anymore food, staff didn't seem to have the foresight to anticipate this either. The waiter we had did however do his best to try and accommodate, with some direction from one of our table who spoke Indian. And then the split bills were wrong, had to be corrected and the waiter said he had forgot to charge someone who had already left... But we did get a few "free naans" due to lacking food temperatures at the table so maybe this was costed on after all. I had to notify the lacking hand towels for the shared bathroom during the dinner service. I paid the service happy to be leaving.
