We stopped by One More Cafe for breakfast on the morning of December 24th, and while the food was solid, the overall experience wasn’t great. The portions were generous, the taste was good, and the prices were totally reasonable. Coffee was decent too, so no complaints about the kitchen.
The service, though, was frustrating. We tried to park in front of the cafe, but the staff insisted we couldn’t because the police might show up. I even said I’d deal with the police if they came, but they still made us park nearly a kilometer away. On top of that, they only accept cash, which made paying a hassle, and the staff didn’t seem particularly friendly or helpful. The food’s good, but the service and attitude really need some work.
Update following the owner’s response: it was car parking first of all, not bike parking. It would be fine if they suggested a reasonable solution instead of “Go park across the street” which had no available parking spots and we were able to find a spot really far from the cafe. Also, if you are so worried about your business getting in trouble with the authorities, maybe you should run a legitimate business that can issue red invoice and accept card payments rather than worrying about where your...
Read moreAs an American dealing with jetlag and fatigue from travel, this bistro allowed me to enjoy a more familiar taste of American breakfast food, but in a much better, higher quality compared to that of what I can get in America for the same price, if not more. Their service is great, hot tea upon arrival with menu, and refilled throughout our time eating. There was also a small dog which was very friendly and clean, and if interested, you can play with it a little bit. The decor in the restaurant is appealing and makes it homey. They have a balcony, allowing fresh air in, something I enjoy whenever at a restaurant. As for the food, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back for more. Their mango smoothie was light and refreshing, yet creamy and rich at the same time. It was not too sweet and was clearly made with fresh ingredients. I also had their French toast with cinnamon sugar and caramelized bananas. I have enjoyed a lot of French toast in my life, whether made by family or in restaurants in America and without a doubt I can say that this place had the best I...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of this café for a long time. I truly love the warm atmosphere, the friendly owner, the adorable little poodle, and the food, it’s always been excellent.
However, my recent experiences have been really disappointing. There are no longer any tables available on the ground floor, which creates long lines of waiting guests. Yesterday, we arrived and found four groups ahead of us in line, so we left. Later that day, we came back at 4:20 PM, only to find out the kitchen was already closed.
Today we gave it one more try. We waited in line again, but the staff mistakenly seated people who came after us before us. At that point, we decided to leave, and unfortunately, we won’t be coming back again.
It’s a real shame that such a lovely place has become so disorganized. There’s simply not enough space for everyone, and the lack of proper queue management ruins...
