Every time I visit DaLat, I have at least one meal at V Cafe, as I find the food is really good....and tonight didn't disappoint. Tonight's meal and other past meals have all been excellent. The only reason why I don't eat here more often is that the prices are a little expensive (for someone like me who's on a retirement budget). However, the prices are in alignment with the quality, serving sizes, staff friendliness, and the restaurant's ambience / atmosphere. Tonight, I tried their Hell's Burger hamburger, served with a side of fries (210k) and the pie of the day, which was Lemon Meringue (55k). The hamburger was quite large, and the best I've tried in DaLat, all it needed was a little added salt (provided on the table). The inclusion of mushrooms was a winner, in my opinion....big thick pieces. The pie was very tasty, too, just not as fresh as a freshly baked one you'd get at a bakery, but nonetheless was very good. If you've never been to V Cafe, they provide elevated roadside terrace seating plus two indoor rooms. The seating inside is a little more fancier and more comfy than the outside wooden settings (3× tables with benches plus 2× tables with chairs). Inside, they even have a small bar area with stools. The service offered is always cheerful, and the occasional checking with diners to see if everything is ok. V Cafe have a good solid variety of dishes upon their menu (Western mostly, but some Mexican and Vietnamese) and a decent array of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I can highly recommend V Cafe if you are seeking a change from the surrounding restaurant's, but remember, they are not the cheapest....just really good for the price that you will pay - so don't whinge if you are looking to be...
Read moreI visited this lovely place that is near to the famous Dalat Night Market in early Oct 2018. First big plus, it is "comforting" to find a place where staff can communicate effectively in English.
This place offered a nice range of local and international food fare. I was recommended by the lady boss Ms Thuy "the V Cafe salad with additional avocado toppings" and it was very good! The avocado was a great addition and when mixed with the salad, bacon, it offered a nice, creamy contrast to the crunch. With this, there was also a nice sauce on the side. We also ordered the crispy Vietnamese spring roll with prawn. It was really nice, crispy on the outside and soft, tender on the inside. Add the sweet (not too spicy) chilli sauce on the side, it was such a nice bite.
In fact, I was there for 2 days in a roll. I ordered their sweet corn chicken soup and it was nice, creamy with nice texture coming from both the sweet corn and the shreds of chicken. The soup was rich with hints of sweetness from the corn. highly recommended with the bread which was served together.
They have a small bar but is stocked adequately with various wine (including local wine), drinks, alcohol.
On top of this, they also have a nice (daily) live music: acoustic set in a cosy setting. It was a great time to mingle with folks from different nationalities including Singapore, New Zealand, USA, Vietnam, Philippines, Zimbabwe .. ...
Lovely place with lovely food, guests, music. Great recipe for success. High...
Read moreOrdered the Fried Chicken with mash potatoes and veggies. My wife's meal was brought out , but mine was still lacking. After waiting for a long time, a different waitress came out and gave my chicken to another table. The only reason I found this out was the table was complaining that they got the wrong order. By now, my wife had eaten her dinner and I was still waiting for mine. When I finally received my meal, the mash potato was dry and not creamy at all. They probably used an ice cream scooper to make it pretty. They need to bring the whole table order to the table at one time and not piece meal it. Another table was distraught for that...
