Update 2023: It used to be one of my absolute favorite places, and I used to frequent it with joy. However, my recent experiences have left me deeply disappointed. The food quality has noticeably declined, leaving the flavors lackluster and far from what they used to be. The staff and service have also taken a disheartening turn for the worse. On my last visit, despite a prior reservation, the staffs shamelessly gave our reserved table to another group, shoving us into a corner without bothering to ask for our opinion. It's truly disheartening to witness such a significant drop in quality in a place that once provided excellent food and service.
Past review (2018):
We really enjoyed our dinner in this restaurant. It was such a nice and relaxed atmosphere and the food was so delicious. The restaurant has a unique, very Japanese atmosphere, nice warm decoration. The service was great and they helped you to cook your "pancake" so there is nothing to worry about even if it's your first time in this type of a restaurant.
Each table has a cooking/warming surface (the type you would see at a Japanese steak house) and they have an open kitchen. The okonomiyaki (basically pancakes made with eggs, noodles, and some combination of pork/seafood/cheese/kimchi - they have many varieties) are absolutely delicious. They are large and filling. After they cook them in full view of everyone, they bring them to your table where they are kept hot on the warming surface.
However, the quality and taste of food slightly different between Vietnamese and Japanese Chef. I, myself prefer the taste from Japanese chef, the food is more flavor...
Read moreThe food is quite delicious, but the price is a bit high.
Food: 4.5/5 (The grilled beef tongue was very good, the fried chicken was not dry at all, and the yakisoba was also tasty. On the other hand, the okonomiyaki didn’t impress me much; maybe next time, I’ll try a different flavor.) Atmosphere: 4.5/5 (Private and spacious, though a bit noisy.) Decor: 4/5 (Warm tones with an open kitchen you can watch, and a few cat statues in some corners, but overall not too impressive.) Price: 4/5 (The prices are higher than other Japanese restaurants in the same range, for example, the fried chicken or grilled beef tongue. Around 200k VND for a serving of okonomiyaki or yakisoba, but since the food is decent, I still give them 4 points for P/P value.) Service: 3.5/5 (The staff are polite but not very attentive. I had to wait a bit too long before they brought the menu, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at that time.)

Read moreStill my favorite place in town to grab some Japanese foods. Their okonomiyaki is superb, and they've got quite a variety of foods from sashimi to ramen or hotpot. Last time I went here, I ordered a combo for 4 which cost 924,000 VND (service charge and VAT tax included). The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of a building in the 535th alley on Kim Ma street. 1st floor is for parking (motorbikes, idk about cars), and 2nd floor there is a bakery. I think it's not really necessary to make reservations before coming, but probably you could get a private table if you...
