Positives: Superb staff - room changes were amazing, check in flawless, overall friendliness was exceptional. Superb breakfast food and variance - (see below though) Well sized room and extremely comfortable bed. The pillows equal holiday inn for comfort.
Negatives: Gym is old…like really old. Also misses a lot of basic utilities to make it a little bit better. If you just want cardio then it’s great and the pool area is spectacular. They tell you not to leave kids in room alone but have no way to enforce. I could hear the two little turds in the room adjacent to me screaming and playing with the lights all night through the wall. And of course, when I get up for breakfast who is there….the mother to take them to breakfast as she no doubt had a different room to get away from the noise. Area is very Japanese. I work for a Japanese company so very happy with the food and drink and area but finding an ‘Irish bar’ or similar concept to just watch football isn’t easy. Not so much ‘local Vietnam’ around as heavily Japanese or Korean. Tv selection is awful and casting doesn’t work. Plenty channels but they are either all news or don’t work.
Would I stay again…for work, absolutely. For personal travel where I paid myself….no, I don’t want to pay my own money to sit at breakfast beside a group of 7 people. 6 and one table and 1 at the table behind them all and the only way they can communicate is by shouting at each other. Three mornings, and the Daewoo sat the same family beside me each time while I had my coffee. It’s just common sense to have loud (stupid) people at the furthest point away from the buffet and keep others at the other.
And yes, before you ask. They have an area for this and yes, maybe 5 other people, MAX, we’re eating and yes, the group of 7 didn’t all arrive at the same time. One morning forgivable. After that black list them and send as close to the lavatories as possible. It is very easy to spot.
(Last bit is a rant, over 15 years in Asia so know the ‘new rich’ but they were so badly behaved I can only think if I did anything similar my mother would have taken the spoon and twatted me on the back of the neck, should not happen in a Korean or Japanese area where manners are paramount) - read into that as to where the problem families and...
Read moreOverall experience was not worth it. In the end I actually wished I had booked somewhere else. We initially booked for the use of the pool... The pool was not very welcoming... although there were staff present with towels... no effort was put in to help uncover chairs or umbrellas when approaching pool.
At arrival we were requested to put down 1 million vnd cash per night that we were staying as deposit.... although this is normally quite acceptable in a 5star hotel, there was no notice of this on Agoda when we booked. This should be mentioned. Also I didn’t feel like anything in the room was even worth 5mil vnd to begin with. The staff were not very friendly to begin with but after mentioning that we were disappointed and should have booked somewhere else, they quickly apologized and tried to be more friendly and accommodating. This is unacceptable for a 5star hotel. We ended up not eating at the hotel as we did not feel warm or welcomed in any way.
The hotel is quite old and not 100% 5 stars worth. It may have been true many years ago but currently very outdated.
The hotel desk is also located around the corner, which means that whenever entering the hotel there aren’t many staff at direct access. No one helped with baggage on arrival.
The parking was shocking and although apology boards are up to explain that it is temporary, I don’t feel like it is anywhere near 5star service.
The garden and pool area is quite beautiful and peaceful. The view is fantastic! The location is excellent and probably one of the only reasons we felt our stay was “convenient”. But other than convenience, if you are looking for luxury or excellent service... this is definitely not the place. Will not waste my...

They're doing renovations on their swimming pool. They need to upgrade some of their facilities because it's a bit outdated. The thing that bothered me with their pool use is that when we went there in full on hotel robe and hotel slippers, we were still asked if we really stay at the hotel. I would definitely understand being interrogated if we looked like outsiders but we were on full on HANOI DAEWOO HOTEL outfit with the robe and slippers.
On top of that, they told me there's only one adult booked in my room which was already cleared when we checked in (something is wrong with their system I guess), then being accused again at the pool. It's ridiculous to think it's supposedly a 5 star hotel.
Smart TV is not working well, Youtube doesn't function at all.
Lastly, when we checked out, I asked if we can still use the pool at least since we have time to spare and usually this is allowed in other 5 star hotels or resorts I've been to after you check out.
But of course, they said we are not allowed to use any hotel facilities anymore the moment we check out. That's their hospitality for you! It's like being kicked out directly after you spent your money. Wow! I've never been so disappointed in a 5 star hotel. I'm so relieved I didn't...
