NOBODY SPEAK JAPANESE. NOBODY SPEAK ENGLISH!! BAD SERVICE LOW QUALITY BUT VERY PRICY
I am an airline pilot whos Korean but living in Japan bcuz my wife is Japanese. also my grandma is Japanese.
firstly this restaurant is separated into the sides. I visited right side one, I said “1人だよ” to the vietnamese boy same time when I entered,
the boy shout to me 1 person? 1person??
this boy makes me just a bit annoying… why he has to shout to me?? I am not a 90 years old grandfather..
after that boy, one middle aged gentle man staff said to me something Vietnamese words but I answered to him こんばんは cuz I have no idea how to say good evening for Vietnamese. but his reaction and face seems something wrong with me. anyway, that’s ok if he doesn’t speak Japanese, and English
but when I told them in english several times “I wanna go upstair bcuz ここはうるさいだから” no one seems to understand wth I am talking about.
this restaurant, as I know just behind embassy of Japan it was unbeilable, nobody speak Japanese but also English. they seem they need to put “Vietnamese language only” outside
anyway I was kicked out but nobody told me the reason and guided to me to go left side another Hotoyama restaurant.
I was so excited to communicate for each others when I was moving into the left side one. but it was also same service. only staffs are speaking in Vietnamese neither English nor Japanese
just one guy try to speak english to me, but he remains at the lobby didn’t follow me and never guided anything. he seems to be annoying for giving any help to me.
their services are totally wrong and bad, no one has proper understanding for foreigners.
It was unexpected surprised experience with that price and the restaurants’ location.
additionally, their prices on the menu and bills are different they seem 8% additional VAT is not included...
Read moreTop notch food with prices to match. The range is excellent and the quality is outstanding.
Price may put you off because you can get similar quality for cheaper in other establishments.
Service is acceptable. It's not amazing but for a restaurant in Hanoi, it's passable and the staff try. My green tea refills stopped after a while.
Sushi and sashimi is very fresh. I'm not used to unagi sushi without the sauce but that's the way its served here. Uni gunkan was lush and so was the ikura gunkan.
Seaweed salad was lovely. They have umibudo here.
Overall, it's a great place for high...
Read moreReasonable pricing for a relatively high-end Japanese restaurant. The food was exquisite and they offer a wide range of seafood here. Valet parking available for cars, the valet will even move your car to a shadowed space should it be too sunny outside. The staff could have cleared our plates a bit slower though, but I guess they are used to Vietnamese leaving plenty of leftover on their plates. Good sake 🍶 but it’s a shame they don’t have many types of umeshu or mixed drinks like whisky highball. Highly recommended and will...
