Makoto Restaurant — Restaurant in Hà Nội

Food was okay, generally. The location is good and the atmosphere seems decent enough visually. However, there were many issues with presentation and service. The semi-private room was too hot, pretty much all night. This was made worse when they decided they wanted to close (before last order) and shut off the A/C. For a Japanese restaurant there were many presentation issues, mainly around wanting to clear plates before we were done with a dish... They would move sashimi onto a sushi plate (neither dish finished) and then later they put a bread based appetizer on that same plate. I didn't dislike my meal, but there are many better Japanese...

I had dinner here with my guests some times and the quality of sashimi and sushi was the best in Hanoi, but recently the serving was not matured. The price of foods that use common ingredients is not very different from that of other restaurants in the Kim ma area, but the foods with high quality ingredients are quite high when considering Hanoi price range. However, if you want to eat delicious sashimi and sushi in Hanoi, you deserve to invest in the price of food. Of course, it is cheaper than the US, Japan, Hong...

Our group have waited more than 50 minutes for food even the restaurant is not crowded. Our group asked the staff to check about food but unfortunately only 2 people in our group get the food after 52 minutes. The Manager who was in charge of taking order for our group did not come to explain but asked one female staff -who wasn’t in charge of this table, to come to say sorry.
