My boyfriend is allergic to shellfish, and when ordering food anywhere in Vietnam, we both ensure to not pick foods with shellfish in them, we also have an allergy card that is in Vietnamese that explains he is allergic and what can happen if he ingests some. We ordered what was written on the menu in English as “pork spring roll noodle bowl”, and when finished ordering showed the waitress the allergy card. When our food arrived my boyfriend ate a spring roll and then said it tasted like fish. After asking staff we were informed that they were incorrectly named on the menu and were in fact pork and shrimp spring rolls. I asked the waitress could these be taken away and they offered to bring out chicken spring rolls and I politely asked if they could just be removed from the bill as we didn’t feel comfortable eating any of it at this point, this was met with hesitancy. We then decided to leave as my boyfriend was feeling unwell and I asked if my main could be removed from the bill as I hadn’t been able to touch it and also was not comfortable eating it and at that point we needed to get medical attention. Again this was met with hesitancy rather than concern for the fact that my boyfriend needed attention, and that I was okay with paying for what we had eaten.
The food and drinks we had as starters were lovely and we really enjoyed them, it just did not seem to be understood in the restaurant the danger of my boyfriend eating shellfish, I would encourage others with allergies to be aware as the menu in this case was wrong and the waitress also did not know the correct ingredients of the food nor was it checked with kitchen staff before...

3 times in 2 days. Yes, You heard that right. In a small coastal area with wonderful Vietnamese food all around and I’m enjoying Italian delicacies. The Pizza and Pesto Pasta were fantastic, but to be honest, it was the ambiance and vibe of the out door patio that drew me. On my feet all day traveling, I just needed a moment to myself. As I sat down to relax and enjoy the sunset, a wave of ease settled over me. I took a deep breath, smiled and when I opened my eyes I was staring at Me. Well, a waitress named My (pronounced Me). She was pleasant, welcoming and never pushy. “I like this place I thought to myself “… Along with my Pizza, I ordered an Apple Cinnamon Tea. An Uncommon menu item in my travels. This was my favorite treat. I actually ordered it 4 times (a second one to go on my last day!). And while the Tea and food encouraged me to linger for a time, it was the staff that forged the experience that I will never forget. (My, Mai and Me). They were so welcoming, kind and patient with me. They even gave me a large bag of ice to take home for self care, as I had been injured a few days earlier. On my third and final visit, I finished my meal, thanked the staff, packed up my pleasant memories and stepped back onto the open road. I never Met Mr Big himself, but I will forever be grateful for the joy his family...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were told by a guy who works at the Bigman that beers were 10,000 and cocktails were 2 for 1. We had been planning to go in for a drink anyway and this seemed like a very good offer.
I went upstairs to get a table whilst my boyfriend used the bathroom. Immediately, before I had even had the chance to sit down, a male member of staff came over to me for my order. I asked for 2 Saigon beers. He brought them over and said it was 70,000. I queried this as we had been told 10,000 outside. He said it was only a certain beer (I didn’t catch which type) that was 10,000. In hindsight I should have just asked for the 10,000 beer.
I gave him a 200,000 note in order to get some change. He asked me to give him more money. I checked that I had given him 200,000 and I had. He could clearly see I had more money in my purse and was essentially trying to just take more money from me. I said no and that I had given him more than enough. My boyfriend came to the table at that point and the man went to get my change.
I feel that he was trying to take advantage of me and that he would not have tried the same thing on my boyfriend or any other man. It made me feel uncomfortable and I wouldn’t recommend this place to any women...
