Nhà hàng Biển Đông — Restaurant in Hải Phòng

It was an authentic Vietnamese dining experience and we loved it! Apparently we went at peak hour and minutes after we sat down, the restaurant was full, VERY loud and chaotic but we still managed to order, get our food and pay the bill. Not all waiters are friendly (maybe also because it was fully packed) and only one waiter spoke english and was so friendly. When we first entered, the waitress was unhappy about where we wanted to sit, and indicated to a table at the corner of the restaurant. she even suggested that we sit on the same table with another custormer (!) which we declined of course. So we sat on a separate table, at the corner (which made sense later when the restaurant was full, no one would have enjoyed sitting in the middle with waiters rushing around you).

We only ate seafood, it was great and they were quick at delivering it. We even ordered a second round. The portions are okay but the prices are really cheap so you can't expect too much food! They had english menu, you have to order rice on the side with the main courses (but it only costs 5000 dong for a portion of plain rice).

Overall it was a great experience, we were full and satisfied. We would've come again if we had more...

It is not like they can't cook seafood, they just can't cook anything plus once you place the order they change the price which goes up to 30% ... I guess the philosophy here is to scam turists. I ordered prawns and they were overcooked, rubbery and TASTELESS...like they didn't even bother to season them. The sauce was just slimy and also tastless. Then I ordered a crab... which was so bad I didn't even have the heart to take a picture of... it was so small and dry with 0 meat inside. "Funny" was that when I asked the waitress how to eat it, she put her fingers in my plate and crashed it for me in pieces... like.. she put her dirty hands in my food guys...she even had black under her fingernails...Horror place... not even the veggies were edible... do yourself a favour and go just...

Its very busy and crowded - and that is ok. But... We had to make second choices from their menu, as most of the dishes and drinks from our first choice were unavailable. We recived one of our dishes wrong (meat springrolls instead of shrip springrolls), and we had to wait 15 minutes for new ones. The seafood noodle had 1 shrimp in it, few squid, some other bits - other restaurants offer much more for the same price. The seafood rice was a disaster - some diced bits in the rice, to taste. We had to ask again twice to get our drinks. The service was bad - they didn't care, laughed, we waited long for everything, despite the fact that there were dozen of staff, not really busy - just talking to each other. Never coming back - there are so many better...
