Nhà Hàng Viễn Dương — Restaurant in Hải Phòng

We happened upon this place because they were showing the south east asia cup football games and we wanted to watch it with locals. We came a couple of times for drinks and had a good time. We weren’t sure about eating here as the review score isn’t great but we wanted to try it because we enjoyed it here. Fortunately, this turned out to be possibly the best restaurant on the island! We had clams, egg fried rice and morning glory and all were excellent! The clams were really fantastic. We liked the food so much we came back for our last meal on the island and had the shrimp with lemongrass which was also good. All the seafood is fresh, taken from the tanks at the front, and everything comes out fast. The staff were really kind to us! They also have a cute pug dog that wanders around the restaurant. Can’t recommend this place enough. Also worth coming just to read the funny set menus at the back...

Not the best food, I wouldn’t recommend eating here. We got beef pho which was very bland. Grilled fish which was definitely not fresh. The lady said they bought it this morning from the market and put it in the freezer/fridge but the meat was hard and a little sour. It was a fillet not even a whole fish. Clams cooked in chilli and lemon grass were nice but many closed and half opened ones which indicates that they are not fresh, I told the lady and she proceeded to open them with her bare hands. We got the egg fried rice which was nice but really really salty! They should put less salted fish.. didn’t enjoy dinner at all. Only giving 3 stars because they agreed to cancel the fish....

I find this place walking around last night and that much the food was amazing and great service extremely fast and the kindness of the manager lint I hope I m spelling correct his name, he was too kind giving all the advices about the best way of cooking and taking great care of us he made our dinner extremely good that I decided to come over this restaurant again one more time instead of discovering another restaurant this much I eat very well excellent service.
