Very friendly family serving us! Need to walk in from the main road so just be careful of possible dogs along the way. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Purple Lantern in Hoi An and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and inviting, with beautiful lanterns hanging from the ceiling and elegant decor throughout.
The food at Purple Lantern was simply outstanding. Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The menu offered a great selection of Vietnamese and international dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I highly recommend trying the Vietnamese spring rolls and the local specialty, Cao Lau – both were absolutely delectable.
The service was also top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and made excellent recommendations. The staff demonstrated a great attention to detail and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience.
Overall, Purple Lantern is a must-visit restaurant in Hoi An. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner for two or a gathering with friends, this restaurant has something for everyone. The combination of fantastic food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service makes it a standout dining destination in Hoi An. I can’t wait to return to Purple Lantern on my next...
Read moreWe arrived An Bang in the evening and looked for some fresh seafood to enjoy, after went around the area by bicycle and searched on Google Map, we found this lovely restaurant. Ms.Na knows how to run her place very well, you can see it in every detail, from the space, the atmosphere, the decorations to even the uniforms the staffs wear (they all wore local traditional clothes of the Central Vietnam Region),... Very unique! Now to the important part - The Foods and Drinks:
The seafoods are very fresh and bravo to all the chefs to keep all the essential flavors each of them (normally when I go to other seafood restaurants, they all make same mistake is putting too much seasoning).
Drinks: This is NOT a lounge or professional bar, so please don't expect the menu to be too various. But all of the classic drinks like Jim Beam Coke, Piña Colada,... are very tasty.
Finally, our whole bill for 3 people is very affordable, even when we ordered a lot of foods and drinks (all the prices are fixed on the menu and there is no way they will overcharged like most of "touristic area". P.s: We had a great evening and we would love to say "thank you" to Ms.Na and all the staffs working in Purple Lantern Restaurant. Highly...
Read moreEvery time I return to Hoi An, Purple Lantern is at the top of my list—and for good reason. The kindness and warmth from the two sisters who run this place are unmatched. Their hospitality makes you feel like you’re coming home.
The food is out of this world. We started with the local appetizer platter—each bite bursting with authentic flavor. The Vietnamese pancakes were crispy perfection, and the scallops stole the show: fresh, tender, and beautifully seasoned. My personal favorite was the eggplant in a clay pot—the sauce was so rich and flavorful I could’ve eaten it with a spoon. We finished with the grilled fish, which was incredibly fresh and grilled to perfection.
Their recommendations are always spot on, and you can tell each dish is made with love. The flavors are balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is thoughtful. It’s that perfect mix of home-cooked comfort and culinary delight.
Thank you again to the lovely sisters for creating such a special place. Purple Lantern is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience I look forward to every time...
