Son Restaurant Hoi An – A Hidden Gem That Outshines the Rest

After visiting Hoi An multiple times, we’ve explored many of its top-rated restaurants, but nothing comes close to the experience at Son Restaurant. In just three weeks, we found ourselves returning three times, which says everything about the quality of food, service, and atmosphere.

Tucked away from the usual tourist hotspots, Son offers an intimate, warm, and beautifully designed setting. The atmosphere is both tranquil and inviting, making it the perfect escape from the bustle of Hoi An’s Old Town. Soft lighting, cosy decor, make for an inviting dining experience.

The service is outstanding—attentive yet unobtrusive, family run with genuine passionabout their food and eager to offer recommendations. Their knowledge and friendliness add to the charm of the restaurant, making every visit feel special.

Then there’s the food—undoubtedly some of the best in Hoi An. Each dish is beautifully presented, bursting with depth of flavour and clearly made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. Unlike some of the higher-rated spots in town, Son delivers on both taste and value, making it an absolute must-visit.

Do not miss if you are coming to Hoi An. Lovely restaurant outside of the old town. We came here on recommendation, and it's one of the best places that we ate while in Vietnam. The duck was delicious, I loved Pho and the morning glory stir fry. My son had the bbq pork belly, spring rolls, and the fried rice ,all of them beautifully prepared and fresh.
