ASA Bistro — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I’ve been a regular and generally enjoyed my visits, but my most recent experience was quite disappointing.

When we were seated, we weren’t given menus — not a big deal, as I understand mornings can be busy. We ordered three dishes, and after 10, then 20 minutes, still no food. I assumed one of the dishes might take longer to prepare, but I couldn’t help noticing that several tables seated after us not only received their food first but also finished before we got anything.

What made it more frustrating was the lack of attention. No one came to check on us despite the long wait. I tried to get someone’s attention, and a staff member told me to be patient — but never followed up. I had to ask another employee to check, and only then did they realize our order had been misplaced.

At that point, I asked for the check. I don’t mind paying for the drinks, but I was disappointed the restaurant didn’t offer any gesture of apology or try to make amends. Mistakes happen — I’m not upset about that. What bothered me was how poorly the situation...

Was so pleasantly surprised with this place. It’s quite a hidden gem for brunch! Normally I’m a bit skeptical for Western-Viet menus, but they nailed both cuisines.

VERY crunchy chicken wings for only 89K. Gorgeous pancakes with fresh fruit for 59K, was really tasty. A lot of delicious Viet options, like the hot stone pho. Lots of nice drink options too.

I think it’s the cheapest brunch spot I’ve found that still does delicious AND instagrammable food ;) so if you want pretty dishes on a budget, this is the place for you.

Staff is really friendly too. They are very present and attentive.

I have had food here many time for the most part its decent; quite over price but thats what u get in vinhomes. But the last time i was here was so horrible, we couldnt it 2 out of 3 dishes that we order because they were sooooo bad, Bun Bo Hue was extremly spicy ( we asked for things not be spicy) and more importantly tasted so horrible, the meat felt like it was so tough and the broth tasted like it came from a cheap package; and the baked pasta was under cooked, tasted like they forgot to put in spices, the cheese didnt even melt properly and was chewy.
