Read moreFOREIGNERS, KOREANS, and TOURISTS, CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING - THEY ADD EXTRA ITEMS. And assume you won't check.
My friend and I ordered and drank one bottle of soju. The bill showed 3 bottles of soju. That's quite a lot. If a bottle of soju is 130,000 VND, the bill showed 390,000 VND. We also ordered only one extra bowl of rice, and they charged for two extra bowls of rice.
There were 3 servers that rotated the service of our table. One older woman, one younger woman, and one younger man.
When I received the bill, I tried to pay by asking for Apple Pay. The male server server said that their machine wasn't working, but I found this to be inconvenient. He said that the credit card machine needed to be recharged.
While I was waiting for the machine to be recharged, I took a closer look at the bill and saw the two instances of fraud.
When I confronted them about it, he feigned ignorance and claimed it was a mistake. It felt like a lie. They younger man said, "oh, I'm sorry, but it looks like it was a mistake by somebody else" with a fake smile.
I have lived in Vietnam and there are businesses who do stuff like this.
You have to be careful. They will assume that you won't look at the bill because many tourists don't.
This is the kind of common lying practice that you might have heard about in Vietnam. It is really unfortunate because there are many restaurants that are honest. But not this one.
The food wasn't even that good. I would give is 3 out of 5 stars.
We will not be returning. There are better (and more honest) Korean...

I recently dined at Bukchon Korean Restaurant and had the pleasure of trying their Bò Kho. The dish was a visual delight, served steaming hot in a black stone bowl that kept the food warm throughout the meal. The rich and savory aroma was the first thing that hit me, setting the stage for a hearty and satisfying experience.
The Bò Kho was beautifully cooked, with tender chunks of beef short ribs that were flavorful and succulent. The vegetables—carrots, potatoes, and green peppers—were perfectly cooked, adding a subtle sweetness and balancing the robust flavors of the beef. The dish was garnished with sesame seeds, which added a nice nutty flavor and a bit of crunch.
What I loved most was the depth of flavor in the broth. It had the right amount of spice, which gave the dish a warming heat without overpowering the other ingredients. The freshness of the accompanying lettuce, cucumber, and carrot sticks provided a refreshing contrast, making each bite feel balanced and satisfying.
Overall, Bukchon Korean Restaurant’s take on Bò Kho was impressive. It's a dish that’s rich in flavor and comforting, making it perfect for a hearty meal. If you’re looking for a cozy spot to enjoy Korean cuisine with a Vietnamese twist, this is definitely a...
