Continuing our food tour from Netflix's Street Food show, we were not expecting much as our previous visits to the places shown in the Taiwan episode were good but did not live up to the hype. As we got out of our GrabCar, we were amused to see our driver immediately order a sandwich before taking off. The menu is only in Vietnamese and the elder gentleman tried to help us but the younger guy from the show came as we struggled to order. He recommended the mixed banh mi which had everything in it (pate, pork pieces, not sure what else). As we waited for our banh mi to be made, we noticed there was a constant stream of locals pulling up and ordering from their motorbikes (always a good sign!) It was 15k and the most delicious banh mi we've ever had. The bread tasted crusty and the overall sandwich had a nice buttery flavor to it. My husband liked it so much he immediately ordered another. Edit:
I went to day to my favorite Banh Mi place and asked for 6 Banh Mi of chicken. The daughter, I think, was not in the mood and just told me she didn’t have chicken that she only had pork.

I thanked him and ordered the Chicken. I have no idea why she would do this but my wife is sick and that’s all she can eat right now.
When I asked why the woman lied she just smiled and said “ Bye Bye”
I have had great experience with the owner but this was the last straw. Between my sick wife and a girl is lying to me for no reason…...

Sure only one of them was on Netflix (Bánh mì Bảy Hổ) but the other one (Bánh Mì BẢY HỔ chính gốc) has been here since 1948. From what we have been told, one store (Bánh Mì BẢY HỔ chính gốc) belongs to the uncle while the other one is operated by the son? It looks to be a sad story of long standing family feud with both producing good quality Banh Mi. So I will rate them both equally well with the same write up. If I can suggest one thing though - visit...
