Looking at the 김밥 (gimbap/rice rolled in dried seaweed) at other tables, I wish I had tried it. I wanted to, but I would have gone for the stir-fried pork verison (제육김밥) and I was already planning to get 제육 (jeyuk/stir-fried spicy pork).
They have the pork with rice (덮밥), with cheese over rice, or the way I got it as the standalone verison (it came with a cup of rice on the side or they missed charging me for it).
The smaller size wasn't a big difference in price, so I went with the larger size for 89K/$3.50.
When it came out, it looked ok. Looked like less meat and more other stuff, but it turned out to be alright. The taste of the meat was good. A little too much sauce, maybe, but I've had similar styles in Korea. I ate the whole thing, but shared would have been also good. It turned out to be better than my initial reaction to seeing it.
I intended to try the tuna rice balls but ordered the regular by mistake (that was my fault). The regular is 69K/$2.70. They didn't look exactly like I'd expect but tasted pretty good.
It's a pretty popular place (all tables were taken...
Read moreI came to clover house because I'm a huge fan or Korean food, and the reviews were extremely positive. Unfortunately, I couldn't agree with most people. I think the rating is high due to the cheap price, rather than delicious and authentic food.
Bibimbap. In Korean restaurants, you are supposed to add the sauce to the rice based on your taste. Not at Clover. They dumped in enough sauce for maybe 4 bowls of bibimbap. As as side note, why serve the rice in this kind of bowl when the bowl isn't sizzling hot? So strange.
Naengmyeon. Noodles were good. Why wasn't I given a bottle of mustard sauce and vinegar? Also very strange.
I also ordered some pork and octopus. The texture of the octopus wasn't so good and the sauce was too sweet. Again, so much sauce!
Tje jokbal had a decent taste. Still I thought the sauce served with it wasn't great.
The banchan at Clover are not good at all.
Sorry to give a negative review, but this is not a good Korean restaurant. There are so many options in the city that are so...
Read moreAbsolutely loved my experience at Clover! The food was incredibly flavorful. The banchan were fresh and varied, a great start to the meal. Service was prompt and friendly, even though it was quite busy. The atmosphere was cozy and felt authentically Korean. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving delicious Korean food in Vietnam. Will definitely be back! P/S: gọi cơm nắm rong biển (hoặc cá ngừ) liền đi, không ngon thì quay lại đây. (Order seaweed rice balls (or tuna) right away, if it doesn't taste good,...
