Cơm Tấm Mộc — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

My companion and I visited this restaurant as a party of two. Initially, we waited extensively before being able to place our orders, and when we finally did, the waiter seemed impatient. When we inquired about the availability of vegan/vegetarian options, he promptly affirmed, despite our clear expression of desire for a vegetarian dish through English and Google Translate. This miscommunication occurred twice, notably with the spring rolls.

Upon receiving the spring rolls, we realized they contained meat. Flagging down another server, different from the one who took our order, proved challenging as they seemed preoccupied amongst themselves or engrossed in their phones. After confirming with the kitchen, this server acknowledged the presence of meat in the dish, yet no offer was made to replace it, and it still appeared on the bill.

Throughout our meal, all staff congregated loudly behind the counter, seemingly oblivious to the dining area, periodically casting glances in our direction, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The apparent disregard for guests and lack of professionalism were glaring, compounded by the young age of the staff, though youth itself isn't an issue. The overall conduct bordered on unprofessionalism and resembled a kindergarten environment.

While the restaurant's ambiance and menu were initially appealing, the experience was far from satisfactory. Such lapses in service are unacceptable, especially considering the prices charged. We cannot recommend this establishment when there are better options...

We were compassionate. It's lunchtime so place was hopping, but there were a few tables left. We patiently sat after placing our order, sipping our supersweet kumquat tea, which we had requested light on sweetness. After 35 minutes both the lady next to us and we noticed we still hadn't gotten our food whereas customers who came in after us, had received theirs. We inquired and the waitress explained because my husband's pork chop took longer than my chicken, please be compassionate, it was taking awhile longer. Laughable as thicker porkchops than our pork cotlet had been delivered to tables in the past 35 minutes. The lady at the next table was told her order was misplaced so she should order again. She asked for whatever the fastest available meal was. They promised her order would be made immediately. It was the same order as my husband's. It came out pronto. We waited another 10 minutes and had enough. We paid for our drinks and just then the meal came out. We'd lost our appetite. We're giving 1 star only because a waitress finally came over to take our order only after we called out because the lady next to us who after waiting considerably called out when can I...

Upon entering your establishment, the abrupt warm in temperature was instantly noticeable, especially the hot weather conditions outside on that day.  Even repeated request to lower the aircon temperature was turned to deaf ears. As a direct result of the conditions within your restaurant, neither my friends nor I felt comfortable on the duration of the meal and even if this had been the only issue which, alas, it was not. As if this were not bad enough, out of sudden a worker came out to repair the aircon which was just adjacent from our table . Our nightmare came when he started to switch on the aircon, all the dust scattered around and flew to our table. How on earth one will still wanna continue dinning. Your staffs should had informed us about the malfunction of the aircon upon our arrived. I feel compelled to express my intense disappointment at this entire experience. The general quality of your establishment and your staff’s attitude of indifference to our discomfort is frankly unacceptable . We received neither rectification nor apology on that day, we just...
