Liberty Central Saigon Centre Hotel — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

Will I recommend it? No Will I stay there again? No

Location. Pretty central (but to be honest, any location in Hochimin will be central. Almost any destination in city centre is under 15 min walk) next to the street market which is rather smelly and loud. That means no sleep until midnight. There is very nice shopping mall in 5 min walk.

Service. No "Hello" or "Welcome" at the front desk. Odd. There was no response even when I said "Hello". And of course no information about hotel facilities. Luckily all other staff was polite.

Room. Dusty and a little bit dark. Only one working power socket. I had to turn off the lamp to charge my phone (lamp was broken anyway). No soundproof. You will be able hear both noises from the hallway and from the street.

Bathroom. Durty bathtub. Grey towels with threads falling out of them (4* star hotel). At least bathrobes were clean and white.

Food. The only hotel bar is at the Bistro restaurant downstairs. But those "cocktails" they serve don't even deserve to be named cocktails. Most strange seafood soup in my life so far. So it might be better to consider going out for the dinner.

Spa. Steam room is nice. List of services is very limited. So there are 5-6 types of massage, manicure and pedicure. I tried the one with clay. Description in their leaflet is totally misleading and doesn't match with the actual process. In reality it was rather unprofessional massage (40 min) and applying to my skin cold water with some amount of clay in it. Also the massuse acted in a rude way. Usually people of her profession are way more gentle and polite with their customers. For example, when I told her I was freezing she said OK and continued to cover my leg with cold clay water...

It is not my first time in Hochimin and definitely not the last one, but next one will be for 100% at ...

The range of my hotel experience is from the Marco Polo, Best Western, and the Holiday Inn to Sofitel. I do believe you get what you pay for. But, I would not recommend this one. On a cross street to this hotel, go find yourself the newer hotels. It may even cost $20 per night if you stay long.||At check in, I walked pass other rooms that emminated the smell of cigarette smoking. Then, my room checked out okay. When I came back, however, it smelled of backed up sewer. It was like that for the new few days. I would have to turn the air conditioner on high for at least 10 minutes to get rid of the smell and BTW, the electricity only works if your key is in the hook in the room.||At night, when the front desk people leaves, the night shift takes over and they smoke like crazy. It is fine if you intend on speeding pass them and up to your room. If you need to use the internet, the computers are located in this lobby area. Also, because the bathroom window does not have a bug screen, you may find mosquitos or moths flying into the room. If you turn your air conditioner to high, they may not come in. However, if you are not used to loud and noisey air conditioners, it's going to be a long night.||And if you intend on having friends join you later, you better book it for 2 people to take advantage of free breakfast and massage coupons. Otherwise, there will be no changing it later. Don't even ask for favors, the front desk is not hospitable.||BTW, if you used ratestogo.com, and you check out early, they will not reimburse you the deposit money and you may even be lucky if they don't charge you in full, according to the front...

Nice Place to Stay and Friendly Staff. The hotel is located on the main road and area accessible to local shops and surrounding restaurants, and local transportation. The rooms are very well maintained, by the housekeeping staff. Hotel is very cozy and ambiance is also good. Staff has good command over English, and their hospitality is good. They have in-room dinning option too, the in-room service is good but needs improvements. The internet wireless connectivity is also good provides a stable connectivity. The hotel has arrangements with well-organized Travel Desk for guest which provide touring services, pick and drop facilities to airport, and local pick and drop facilities on a chargeable basis, the service provided by the travel desk improvements and should be well organized. The Hotel has well organized parking. The security arrangement at the entrance give the feeling of safety. There are other food and shopping options available with in the hotel premises. The hotel and restaurant are very well maintained with good hygiene and well-organized restaurant staff. For the breakfast you have good option available, do have options lunch and dinner. The hotel has its own bar not much options are available but still can go with the available options.

PLEASE NOTE: - before checking out the hotel and clearing the bill please do check all the items are considered for the payment as for example the two and fro changes of the pick and drop to the hotel are also considered as mostly they are very careless as they miss thing to add up
