We visited both Hum Cafe and Hum Lounge & Restaurant in November 2023 on the same day. We visited the Lounge during lunch and since we enjoyed the Lunch so much, we decided to dine for dinner at the Cafe next door to the Lounge after we had visited the war remnants museum. You absolutely must go to Hum Cafe and Lounge & restaurant for a wonderful dining experience! Even if you are not a vegetarian, you will be amazed by the food creativity and quality, amazing service and the ambiance. Personally my wife and I felt the ambiance and the food of the lounge & restaurant during lunch was slightly better than our dinner experience at the cafe; don't get me wrong both were wonderful experiences Food - When they hand the colorful elegant menu to you and you go thru it, you will feel like ordering every item! We wanted to have authentic vietnamese dishes that we don't normally eat at SE Asian restaurants in US. For lunch we ordered A Mango & Passion Fruit Smoothie, Lotus Tuber in Sesame salt, Ground Roasted Rice Roll, Salad A la Hum (papaya salad), and for Dessert we ordered Longan & Lotus Seed Sweet soup (we ordered this after we saw it being served on a table near us). All of the lunch dishes were amazing and different and we enjoyed them all. My wife still recalls the papaya salad from hum as it was really awesome! The dessert was very different and had a perfect note to end the meal - light and not very sweet. For dinner we ordered Raspberry & Fig drink, Pomelo Salad in Passion Fruit, Deep fried veggies, Son Tapioca noodles in spicy sauce (specialty from Quang Nam province) and sour soup a la Hum. Again all the food was really good and each had its own flavor profile The food presentation for both lunch & dinner was just truly exceptional Service - we got amazing service at both places from both the Hosts and our servers. Extremely friendly people and they literally took time to explain the dishes in the menu. They did not rush us in any way and infact was a perfect balance of allowing us to enjoy the meal and at right times checking in to see if all was ok with food. For some of the questions that our wait staff could not answer they went and asked in kitchen and/or to the manager. During lunch Ha Le our waitress was very courteous and helped to explain all items we were thinking of ordering . She was extremely fun to chat with and it felt like as if we were talking to a friend. At dinner time Thing Tran our waiter was also very friendly and helpful and he helped us order food based on what type of food we wanted to eat and also tried not to overlap with any dishes we had during lunch. He was also a nice person to chat with and we talked about various things before it got really busy. Ambiance - We did not know what to expect when we stepped in so it was truly a nice surprise. We went into the entrance on 1st floor (ground floor in Vietnam ) and then the host takes you upstairs to the 2nd floor (1st floor in Vietnam) and when you step in there you feel transformed because of the decor they have throughout the restaurant from the dining room to the bathroom. Its very different and very vietnamese!. The lounge decor was simple but extremely effective and immediately you feel at ease and look forward to dining - feels very hip and casual and very different than normal restaurants. The lounge is wery well spaced out and has large airy windows making it feel very tropical. Even though most tables were occupied at lunch, you did not feel restaurant was crowded because there was adequate spacing between the tables. Even the Cafe at night had its own charm as that was cozy cafe style feel though that seemed crowded once full Overall - excellent value in terms of food, service and ambiance. Definitely a must to visit and enjoy the creativity of food and associated presentation. Thank you to entire staff of both the restaurants. Make sure you reserve a table as they get very busy

I recently had the pleasure of dining at "Hum", a delightful vegetarian haven that left me truly impressed. The culinary journey began with a diverse menu that catered to various dietary preferences, from plant-based to vegan. Every dish was a celebration of flavor and creativity, showcasing the chef's dedication to crafting memorable vegetarian experiences. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Each plate was a work of art, with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients that highlighted the restaurant's commitment to quality. From the first bite, I knew I was in for a special meal. The atmosphere at "Hum" was equally enchanting. The cozy yet sophisticated decor created a warm and inviting ambiance. Soft lighting and soothing music set the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening of dining and conversation. It's an ideal place for a romantic date or a gathering with friends who appreciate exceptional vegetarian cuisine. Hum is such a beautiful space, its interesting design and beautiful decor really make wonderful first impression. From the moment you step enter you feel like you're in for something special. The restaurant has multiple dining levels with each room offering its own unique ambience. We were seated on the higher dining level and the cool evening breeze brought me back to when I fell in love with Vietnam. For me, coming to a higher end vegetarian restaurant the food must satisfy a number of senses, particularly sight and taste. I've eaten at some wonderful fine dining vegetarian restaurants in Vietnam and the visual aspect of the meals have always left me with a wow factor that's never been replicated anywhere else I've ever dined. Unfortunately Hum really dropped the ball. For this expensive experience I really expected more, I really expected something that I'd really want to photograph and say to my friends, wow look at this. I was left indifferent to the foods taste and it's presentation, however most items I wanted to try were already sold out, so I'm sure there would have been a few gems tucked away there. The overall, I'm unsure i'd like to try it again. I'm just not willing to risk it, particularly when there's so many amazing fine dining vegetarian options available in this wonderful city.

Hum is a special dining experience and the people behind this concept are masters of blending tranquil spaces and offering a dining experience that is refreshing, uplifting and satisfying. The service is detailed, yet laid back. Every table is greeted by a guest relations manager to make certain the service and food is up to satisfactory standards and to make small talk. The entire space is welcoming, clean and a nice break away from the bustle of the city. I would recommend this restaurant for romantic dinners, small gatherings of 6 or less people, tourists, health conscious persons and for people that like a little refinement that isn’t pretentious or stuffy. The restaurant has had a successful run in its 11 year history and has recently expanded the concept to include a brand new neighboring space that is absolutely stunning! I feel it is worth a visit just to see the building. On the ground floor there is a gift shop which offers many tasteful gifts, specialty Vietnamese wines (passion fruit & apricot wines) and a broad range of artisan products. Do yourself a favor and come dine here… even if you are a meat eater.

We had snowy orange lime and snowy lemon for drinks. For dishes, we ordered crystal salad, spicy bean salad, steamed mushrooms in a coconut, pineapple fried rice and vegetables in a squash. The drinks were both very freaking and delicious. The steamed mushrooms and spicy bean salad were our favorite. They were both flavorful and every ingredient was well-combined together. The pineapple rice was a bit disappointing. It was a bit dry and not much flavorful. The vegetable squash bowl was not bad but also nothing special. There was nothing remarkable about it. The crystal salad was interesting. We never tried fresh aloe vera before. I personally didn’t like the texture of it so much. It was slightly slimy. It's fun to try it though. There were lots of creative dishes. On the ground floor it's a shop selling healthy products. The restaurant is at the second and third floor. The facade of the whole building was eye catching. Overall it was a nice experience to try some creative vegetarian dishes.

Hum offers a unique dining experience crafted by experts who skillfully blend serene environments with a meal that is both refreshing and satisfying. The service strikes a balance between attentiveness and a relaxed atmosphere, with each table personally greeted by a guest relations manager to ensure everything meets high standards. The ambiance is welcoming and provides a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. This restaurant is ideal for romantic dinners, intimate gatherings of up to six people, tourists, health-conscious diners, and anyone who appreciates a refined yet unpretentious setting. After a successful 11-year history, Hum has recently expanded, adding a stunning new space next door. The ground floor features a gift shop offering a selection of tasteful gifts, including specialty Vietnamese wines like passion fruit and apricot varieties, as well as a range of artisan products. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, dining at Hum is an experience worth having.
