XLIII Specialty Coffee feels like stepping into a minimalist sanctuary for coffee lovers. The entrance is understated, tucked off the street, and the moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in a quiet elegance, matte-dark walls, soft concrete floors, and just a touch of greenery. Warm, focused lighting draws your attention to the counter where baristas move deliberately, and the hum of quiet conversation makes the space feel more gallery, less café. Ordering here is almost meditative. You’re not handed a menu right away, instead, a barista approaches with gentle curiosity and asks about your flavor preferences, guiding you toward a specific bean and brewing method. I chose a single-origin pour-over that arrived with citrus blossom notes up front and a honeyed jasmine finish that lingered softly. Every element, from the grind to the pour, felt intentional and unhurried. Dairy alternatives are expertly steamed, never overpowering the coffee’s flavor, giving each latte the same clarity as a black brew. Deeply thankful that I got served by Đại, whom is very understand about the product and fun to talk with. The small details elevate the experience. Drinks come out at just the right pace, never rushed, yet never cold. The interior stays hushed even when full, and staff move with calm precision, ensuring your cup stays full without interrupting your moment. It’s thoughtfully designed for lingering, with bench seating that invites you to sit and savor. Prices are on the premium side, but every sip feels worth it. XLIII Specialty Coffee isn’t for a quick caffeine fix, it’s for those who want to taste the craftsmanship behind each cup. Slow down, choose your brew, and let the flavors unfold. It’s a quiet celebration of coffee done right.

如果你是台灣人,千萬別來,我只能幫到這了 I’m a coffee roaster and barista myself. This place had good reviews on Google, so I decided to give it a try—but it turned out to be a big mistake. Out of the 11 coffee shops I visited on this trip, this was the only one that left me truly disappointed. I ordered an Americano and a Geisha pour-over. The roasting was a complete failure. I’ve had plenty of very light roasts in different countries, but here the coffee just tasted underdeveloped—almost raw. The Geisha pour-over was fine for the first minute—there was some aroma and sweetness—but it quickly fell apart. What was left was a rough texture and a strong straw-like taste. When I watched them make the light-roast Americano, the espresso shot sprayed out like a fountain. I honestly thought they would redo it, but instead they served it straight to me. The cup had no flavor, none of the bright acidity you’d expect from a light roast—just grassy, raw bean notes and silverskin flavor. On top of that, it left my throat unbearably dry. In the end, I couldn’t finish either drink and left (see photo 2). The staff showed no interest in customer feedback and didn’t even try to understand what went wrong. Overall, it was a really terrible experience.

I can't say enough about my experience at XLIII Coffee. Beyond the fantastic coffee, the service from Kathy was truly exceptional and elevated the entire visit. From the moment I walked in, Kathy was incredibly welcoming and attentive. She was patient and knowledgeable, answering all my questions about the different beans and brewing methods. Her passion for coffee was contagious, and she took the time to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. She even gave me a great recommendation that I wouldn't have tried otherwise. The coffee itself was, as always, a standout. The quality and craftsmanship are apparent in every sip, but it was Kathy's warmth and genuine enthusiasm that made the experience memorable. She made me feel like a valued guest, not just another customer. XLIII Coffee is a must-visit for any coffee lover, and if you're lucky enough to be served by Kathy, you're in for a real treat. She's the kind of person who makes a great cup of coffee even better.

If you're seeking more than just a regular coffee shop, XLIII Coffee is an absolute must-visit. This place redefines the coffee experience, transforming it into a memorable journey that delights all your senses. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth and a welcoming smile that immediately sets the tone for what’s to come.

What makes XLIII Coffee stand out is their meticulous approach to coffee craftsmanship. They take the time to introduce you to their wide selection of beans—explaining the origins, flavor profiles, and best pairings, whether with milk or served black. This personalized walkthrough elevates the whole experience, making it both educational and immersive.

One of the most captivating parts of the visit is the sensory tasting. After helping you select your beans, they invite you to smell the raw coffee, allowing you to appreciate the rich aromas and nuances before the brewing even begins. It’s a delightful step that truly engages your senses and deepens your appreciation for the craft.

Once you've made your choice, they craft your cup with care, and when it arrives, it’s nothing short of spectacular. Each sip is a journey into flavor, balanced and refined—worth every penny of the high prices, which range from 125,000 VND to 500,000 VND per cup. While these prices are on the higher side for Vietnam, the quality, experience, and overall satisfaction make it absolutely worth it.

In my extensive experience reviewing coffee shops across Vietnam, XLIII Coffee ranks among the top two or three I’ve encountered. It’s not just a place to grab a caffeine fix; it’s an experience that leaves you feeling happy, fulfilled, and eager to return.

If you’re a coffee lover or someone looking for a unique, sensory-rich outing, XLIII Coffee is a destination that won’t disappoint. Prepare to indulge, learn, and enjoy—because this isn’t just coffee, it’s...

For those that drink specialty coffee or are genuiely interested in coffee, please read.

As someone who brews specialty coffee daily, I wanted to try one while on vacation in Vietnam. Saw the amount of great reviews, so I thought I'd give this a try. I have to say that the exterior and interior of the cafe has a nice minimalist and contemporary design that makes it feel high-end.

The staff was friendly and did their best to speak english with us to explain their pourover menu - each coffee had their own card. We ordered 3 different coffees with the most expensive one aroud 25 CAD.

I started to become skeptical once I saw they were using a cheap grinder that made inconsistent fines. The smell of the grains was very subtle but I thought I'd give them the benefit of doubt.

The moment our barista started brewing, I knew we just got scammed. I won't say what gave it away (in case they read and adjust their process) but for those who drink specialty coffee, you'll know. Brew time was over 4 minutes so the coffee was heavily over extracted and flavours were indistinguishiably muddy.

Our barista used 100 degree water for all 3 coffees and then gave us an explanation why that made absolutely no sense. He didn't leave the whole time we were drinking then asked for a google review several times as well as our instagrams.

I have a feeling their coffee beans are not specialty beans at all. I am impressed at how closely they are able to replicate a specialty cafe but it is extremely frustrating to new and old coffee consumers coming to Vietnam.

Please avoid this cafe if don't want to...
