Music was great, air conditioning was cool, seats clean and comfortable. We need more places like this in Vietnam.
Pretty turned off by reading the negative reviews of service, running out of pho, long waiting.... HOWEVER:
5pm - no wait, greeted by service with sin Chao. Open seating. Ordered waygu they are all out. Went ahead with mama pho special and Chinese donuts. Clean tables clean environment, clean kitchen witch is open and visible for public view. Chinese donuts was delicious!!! Dip it in the flavor flooded pho broth. Crispy on the outside warm and chewy on inside like how a fresh donut should be. Mama Pho special delivered like a Tom Brady tampabay superbowl touchdown goal. Pho Noodles like rookie year, thick like American tourist, delicious with silk like texture. Too bad they don't have Sriracha rooster hot sauce but the great flavors made up for it. Portions small but taste great. Eat to live not to get fat. Rich people problems. Bill- paid with a credit card so no confusion on getting change back.
Go during the day: no long wait at breakfast time. There is only 7 tables for...
Read moreFor an establishment that preaches what pho is and the experience that MommaPho will give on their site, MommaPho did not deliver. Fixed menu. Not allow to add or 86 any meat. Just have to buy extra or throw away. Side of meatballs was 48k, literally one meatball thinly sliced to get 5 pieces. Broth was bland. Even adding lots of chili and black (their own brand) sauce could not boost the blandness. Refilled sauce in old plastic bottles is just plain dirty. Especially when the bottle labels are all worn from overuse. Green herbs looked ok. Sprouts were all brown at tips. Atmosphere was not much better. Inside was hotter than outside tables. They had a floor fan blowing and looking up at the ACs on ceiling, you can see it all yellow and dirty. Servers bring out food should not have long dirty nails. Just gross. You can have a much cleaner and tastier pho experience any where in the Saigon for...
Read moreThe food is fine, but it's hard to recommend MamaSlow because of the poor management decisions about staffing. It takes 30-40 minutes to receive your food and one person's pho can arrive at the table and then 15 minutes later the second person's. There's often only two people working: one cook and one server. So you gotta feel bad that they're not getting the support they need from the owners. My photos of the empty table show what you'll spend the majority of your...
