Midam Korean Premium BBQ — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Incredibly disappointing dinner at this place. There are definitely much better k-bbq places in HCMC at this price point. Food quality wise, banchan and other dishes (we tried the noodles, seafood pancake and kimchi soup) were quite good, they’re well-seasoned and the taste was authentic. However, for grilled meat, the beef was ok but the pork was questionable. My friend had her first bite and immediately spat it out. We raised this to the restaurant staff but the response was very inconsiderate and illogical. First, they told us it could be because we’re not used to the flavor??? But it was just plain unseasoned grilled pork so we questioned back right away. Then they came up with the excuse that we already had too much of the grilled pork so they’re not able to evaluate anything??? We were flabbergasted because the pork was barely touched by any of us after we discovered how off the meat was? Staff then asked the manager to come in but he didn’t say a word and I doubt if he even understood the situation. Besides the pork quality, the staff and the manager seriously need proper training. There was no sense of customer service or hospitality when customers genuinely give feedback or ask for clarification. We also found out that one of our friends was asked to leave the elevator to give space for a group of male guests (who were apparently korean) by the staff there, even though my friend was already queuing first, and none of the male guests were. She rejected to step out at first but was insisted to leave simply because the male guests arrived at the restaurant before her??? We left the restaurant in silence, walked by the manager and the staff who handled our situation (elevator + questionable pork) and they simply ignored us. Feels like this is our own fault for choosing this restaurant for a weekend friend gathering. Definitely will not come back and will recommend our friends to stay away to avoid such...

The experience was disappointing. We visited your restaurant today at 12 PM in Room 301 and I’d like to share some feedback.

While the meat was delicious and premium, the overall experience was disappointing. Both male and female staff seemed unfriendly and cold, and I even saw the female staff rolled her eyes when my friend asked for help. We were also served burnt garlic (photo attached) by the male staff, which was surprising—I'm not sure if this is considered normal at Midam? Additionally, when we asked for photos, the male staff gave us blurry ones and were not enthusiastic about helping.

Compared to other restaurants like Matchandeul or 4ps, where the service is more attentive at half the price, we felt that this experience wasn’t worth the cost. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend Midam to others or...

I visited this BBQ place over the weekend and overall had a good experience. The quality of the meat is very reasonable for the price, especially the beef which was tender and practically melted in my mouth. The staff were friendly and attentive, even grilling the meat for us, which was really convenient. They have private rooms that work well for both hanging out with friends or business meetings. The side dishes were varied, but the dipping sauces were quite simple — mostly just soybean paste and salt with sesame oil.
