The hotel is nice, location is also good. Staff at the concierge were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast variety is very good, staff were nice as well. However, be careful when asking to "make up room". After breakfast, we put up the "make up room" sign and left the hotel. My husband left his office bag in the room with his "Philippine" wallet in it, while we went out with his "Indonesian" wallet. We came back to the hotel very late at nite already and checked out the following morning after breakfast. I do not want to make accusations, but there are "thieves" among the cleaning team. We only had the room cleaned once, so the hotel can easily pinpoint these people thru the cctv. Be careful! Text messages regarding "charges" made on his Philippine card started coming in while we were already in the airport. The "thieves" waited for us to check out of the hotel first. Also, I found out today that money was withdrawn from his Philippines atm card. We are still sorting things out with our bank in the Philippines. What an awful experience to an almost perfect vacation in Vietnam! Let that be a lesson to all of you. Trust no one even if they give you the "friendliest" and "sweetest" smile......
In answer to management's reply, just want to let you know, it was the only time my husband left his office bag in the room, we were very trusting of the hotel because of its good name. Also, Philippine credit cards and atm cards were the only cards missing, the other cards like condominium key cards, IDs, etc. were not taken. The person had a lot of time going thru the bag as the bag also contained a lot of stuff, like office stuff, office paper, personal stuff, etc. I believe this is a syndicate's work as they were able to max out the credit card without the "one time pin" required by the bank and money was withdrawn from the atm card without the necessary "pin". Please don't be complacent as these kinds of incidents may ruin the reputation of your hotel. We have already "reviewed" all possible scenarios where we could have "lost" the card, but the ONLY possible place is really just from your hotel as from your hotel we went straight to the airport, we were already in Kuala Lumpur for a stop over when text messages of credit card usages from Bach Nang started coming in. That's the place where your hotel is...
Read moreFront Desk and Guest Relations were excellent, accommodating and very helpful as were the doormen. My only complaint was with the Concierge. We requested help with a tour to the Meekong Delta and asked if he could call the company who ran the tour we were interested in to get additional info. The Concierge told us that bec it wasn't the same tour company that the hotel uses, that he could not make the call or help us. We were stunned. I thought the Lotte Hotel was in the business of being a hotel and taking care of Guests' needs, esp the Concierge. I didn't realize they were in the biz of selling tours for specific tour companies. So we walked across the Lobby to Guest Relations (a lovely and VERY helpful Japanese young lady - Masako? can't remember her name) who gladly made the call and got us the info we needed.. She went above and beyond and was in further contact with the tour company after we left for the day, and found out even more info which she relayed to us upon our return to the hotel. That was the assistance I expected out of the Concierge but never got.
As for the rooms, they were average size and looked a bit dated. Rugs had stains, bathtubs had nicks in the porcelain, furniture had visible scratches and drapery had an odor. Pool area was nice, lobby was beautiful.
Use the back exit by the pool area as a shortcut to Vincom Center (shopping mall) and other restaurants, cafes and more shopping. Not much immediately near hotel but many things easily accessible by taxi or short walk out the back. Main restaurant looked good, but we opted for more local places and didn't try it.
The Hotel was kind enough to hold our bags while we traveled to DaNang and Hoi An. We came back for our last 2 night before flying home. That was helpful. Hotel experience was good, not fabulous bec we just couldn't get over the whole Concierge not willing to make a call for us bec they sold tours for another company. I don't think I've ever had a Concierge in any hotel that I have ever stayed in tell me that. Is he paid by the tour company too? Rooms are only average in size. I honestly expected a little more comfort out of an...
Read moreBell boys upon arrival fast & friendly taking our bags to check in - check in was the same. Our bags were taken to our room on the 7th floor & we were met with amazing views of the river. A massive bed which can only be described as a Super King. The room amenities are great - there is a mini car & plenty of space in wardrobe & bathroom is well served with shampoo conditioner, body wash & lotion and all the other little things you might need. 2 bottles of water every day. Street noise or corridor noise not an issue. Breakfast is impressive & caters for all types of food options. We had pizza one night in the Italian & spent a few afternoons by the pool. All of the staff were friendly & efficient. There is a gym & plenty of outdoor seating & lounges. Bar service in the lobby area is very good. House cleaning is exceptional. The pool area is well serviced by pool attendants for access to lounges & towels on several occasions (over several days) when needing to get a drink or food from the bar staff we had to go inside only to find they were on their phones & ability to understand English was a challenge at times . There is a lack of poolside service & cleaning of tables after eating, we had to take it inside ourselves after about 15 mins & had to continually ask for ice to be brought out on an exceptionally hot day. The hotel location is good -it’s within walking distance to many sights or a few $$ by grab to the key locations such as markets & imperial palace. Toilets & public areas always spotlessly clean. Overall a highly recommended hotel despite a few minor...
