We had come here one time before for dim sum.. Which was very nice.. But we decided to try this restaurant in the evening.. And we were very impressed.. The service was very professional and swift. The staff were very polite. And help with are choice of food.. Being are first time in the evening we wanted to try a few dishes.. We had the French beans with minced pork... Absolutely lovely. Very tasty not over cooked beans still had a crunch.... Then we had the sweet and sour pork with capsicum.. Now being in Vietnam everywhere you go they allways serve sweet and sour pork with bones... This restaurant scored a extra point as the sweet and sour pork was boneless... Brilliant.. And a treat to eat without all the fussing of pulling bones out of your mouth. And you could taste the capsicum... Very good.. We followed this with roast chicken in a pepper sauce.. Again no bones and the chicken was so tender.. Melted in your mouth... And so tasty.. And then we had bean curd with mushroom and sauce. I'm not a lover of bean curd but this was so tasty and really well cooked. And finally we had the restaurant special fried rice. Now for a small portion this was quiet expensive at 360 dong for a small portion. But wow so very tasty. Very fresh we'll cooked rice with a hint of soy sauce... All the food was presented well and was pipeing hot. We were both given a complimentary glass of white wine on are arrival. And at the end of the meal we were both given a complimentary desert of mango pudding which was tasty and refreshing. And not to sweet. All in all it was a lovely meal not cheep but for two people are bill was about £45.00 so in Vietnam terms it classed as expensive.... But in my view it beats the run of the mill restaurant around ho Chi Minh. On paying the bill the mangeress offered us a loyalty card. Which allows us 10% discount on future vist. And she allso gave us a voucher giveing us a 300dong discount on are next meal.. Definitely will be going back with the family. Now my only one complaint. And that is children.. This is a up market restaurant... And when children are running around the restaurant screaming and bumping into things.. One it's dangerous. And two it's off putting to the custermers that are haveing a quite dinner with there friends.. So I feel the manager should take control of the situation and ask the parents to control there children... Otherwise I feel that even though they serve beautiful food they may lose repeat custom due to this fact..
But all in all yes I would totally recommend this restaurant not only to the locals but to...

Suckling pig so good I had to revisit after two whole years. While I was drooling over the suckling pig, the kitchen was hard at work preparing the set menu we ordered specially for Mother's Day. Unsurprisingly, the vibrant crimson skin brings a satisfying crisp that crunches and crackles in your mouth, as the thin layer of fat dissolves on your tongue, amalgamating with tender, moist flesh that bursts with pork umami. The strongly savoury bite is beautifully contrasted with a sweet hoisin sauce, creating an endless cycle of stuffing pork into my mouth. Another new discovery that this restaurant once again showed me is the Chiuchow Spring Rolls, which also disappeared quickly from its mystic display. Thick slices of spring rolls, wrapped with thin, crispy tofu skin that surrounds a tender disc of bouncy pork and shrimp filling. Each bite contains a bit of jicama for a subtle crunch, and served with a tangy plum sauce that I couldn't get enough of. As natural as the top student passing with flying colours, their sweet and sour pork also passes the litmus test. The proportion between the juicy fat and meat is almost perfect, each bite bursting with pork flavours, its tender flesh contrasted by the thin layer of batter, which stays wonderfully crisp despite being saturated in an appetizing sweet and sour sauce. I'm glad that after all this food, the dessert is still so refreshing. Sour kumquat slush to cut the fat, hydrating and sweet watermelon, and crunchy guava are a comforting end to a meal. But wait, it’s Mother’s day, and so my mom bought her mom a simple cake to honour the occasion, acting like a guilty post-dessert dessert that’s...
Read moreThe dim sum at Yu Sang Lou is highly praised for both its flavor and presentation. The restaurant specializes in traditional Cantonese dishes, with popular options including shrimp dumplings, char siu buns, and the more unique salted egg yolk buns. The shrimp dumplings and siu mai are particularly celebrated for their delicate, thin skins and fresh fillings, providing a great texture and taste combination.
Guests often mention the sophisticated yet warm ambiance, which enhances the dining experience. While the service can sometimes be slower due to the high volume of customers, the quality of the food and overall dining experience keeps...
