MOO BEEF STEAK 109 LÝ TỰ TRỌNG — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I am a Chinese American and came here for dinner with my girlfriend who is Vietnamese. I look possibly Vietnamese but spoke mostly English while my girlfriend spoke Vietnamese. At first the service seemed quite good, but then something happened that quickly turned that around. We ordered at around 7:20 and a group of 4 elder foreigners' sat next to us and came in around 7:35. We were already waiting long, and we only had one steak that we ordered medium. It was 7:50 and we still didn't get our steak but the group of 4 foreigner's got their steaks.

I saw this and was quite frustrated and asked the waiter. She said it was because we ordered our steak medium and they ordered medium rare so ours would take longer. My gf told the waiter that that should only take like a couple minutes longer at most but they didn't really respond.

I then knew this was just an excuse because we finally got our steak and IT WASN'T EVEN MEDIUM! IT WAS ALMOST RARE LET ALONE MEDIUM RARE. We were on a time crunch to leave for a movie so I couldn't say anything but this really pissed me off ESPECIALLY for the price we paid. There was 5% tax and 8% service charged automatically added.... to make things worse. I had better service with places with NO EXTRA FEEs.

I have been so several other steakhouses with similar quality food for HALF the price so I would expect the service to be SOMEWHAT better but I did not expect to receive what I felt was DISCRIMINATION just because my gf was Vietnamese and me being Asian??

I DO NOT recommend coming here, especially if you are Vietnamese or look Asian....

In terms of food quality, I cannot provide a complete assessment as we did not end up trying any dishes. However, based on the positive reviews I have heard from others, I believe there is potential for a satisfying dining experience at MOO BEEF STEAK 109 LÝ TỰ TRỌNG.

In summary, while the miscommunication regarding the vegetarian option was a drawback, I acknowledge the effort made by the staff to rectify the situation. I would recommend this restaurant for those who enjoy meat-based dishes and are looking for a cozy...
