Came here on a recommendation from the locals; plus, the reviews looked good so I decided to give it a try. Definitely need reservation before hand and make sure you ask for seats at the sushi bar if you want to experience omakase close up. Service was good. Our server was attentive. Explanations of the dishes were a bit too fast but were all right over all. Omakase: fishes were okay, not great, fresh, but not a refreshing level of fresh. If you know you know. Rice was undercooked. The otoro cut wasn’t good which left some connective tissue on the edges causing it to be a bit chewy. Again, very disappointed with the undercooked rice which was a big let down to us. Half of the menu was sashimi & sushi and the other half was cooked fish and other dishes. I expect omakase to be 90% on the sushi side. Considering the presentations, quality of foods, this place is not worth the price. At all. Sorry. Omakase should include element of surprise this place gave us a set menu. This is not omakase. Foods coming up too fast! It might be a Vietnamese thing where people like their food to come up immediately but for omakase it needs to take time! Slow down when you serve your foods! You are not a fast food restaurant. There were a group of Americans with a blonde and 2 dudes sitting at the bar today Jan 04th with the second sitting of the night who were very annoying and obnoxious, especially the blonde. She was too loud and obnoxious and in the restaurant there was no other voices except this one. If you are reading this review, please make sure you check yourself and be considerate of other diners in the room. Lower your voice, please. Act classy, people. Lastly, when receiving a legitimate complain, Manager should do something about those obnoxious guests not just brush it off. Over all, I would never come back here the second time. Huge...
Read moreThe restaurant is located right on Pham Viet Chanh Street, but it can be a bit tricky to spot at first. With its cozy, homey vibe, it looks more like a house than a restaurant from the outside. Fortunately, a Japanese gentleman stood at the entrance to welcome guests, so we didn’t get lost — and I’m sure we won’t confuse it with another place next time.
My family visited on a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was quite busy. You’ll need to make a reservation in advance if you want to sit at the counter. The space is small but warm and inviting, with a traditional Japanese ambiance. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to serve.
The food was fresh and beautifully presented. The sushi rolls were tightly wrapped, the fish was rich and clean in flavor. The sashimi was cut thick, allowing you to really appreciate its freshness. The grilled fish — a new addition to the menu — left a strong impression on me. The flesh was tender and moist, while the skin was perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. Definitely worth a try.
The sake selection is varied, and prices are mid-range — slightly on the higher side but fair for the quality. It's a great spot for a relaxed date night or a cozy family dinner.

Read moreworst service ever. ruin our night. if you arrive even 5min early, you have to wait outside with no seats. basically stand outside until your booking time
then we were seated in the worst corner area even though i ask for the best seat when booking since we wanted the full experience.
next, we asked staff to take a picture for us. she pretty much gave us a rude starky answer that the view is only nice if taken from the kitchen. obviously all the chef are cooking and cant take pictures. so we ended up taking selfies only.
next, the omakase chef pay no attention to us. they seem to be more interested in certain vip customers or those that speak japanese. basically we sat at the omakase counter, order the most expensive omakase and had no service or experience. they made the sushi on the other end and brought it to our seat. They gave no interaction, did not get to see how it was made, no one told explain to us what the food was unless asked. server tried to explain but just gave simple tuna or whatever answer. whats the point of going to omasake without the experience.
overall, worst experience ever, very bad customer service, ruin our special night. would never come back. many better japanese resturant with great ambiance...
