OK so I admit there had been beer drinking prior. But beer has never clouded my judgment - it's just made the eat it with your hands (tacos, kebabs, meat on a stick) cravings arrive late. (Usually too late to satisfy here in the ville.)
But I knew TF stayed open till at least 11pm! (midnight on a Saturday & Sunday?) So a couple of tacos were totally in order.
Gotta go for the beer battered fish - ukno vaguely healthy! 😉 And a birria beef! (OM6th ltr of the alphabet G!) it's like 10 hr BBQd brisket! (the fat's all gone into the flavor.) I could have stopped there but then where else can you find refried beans? Gotta have a bowl of beans. (I was ready to order a side of jalapeños to jazz up the frijoles, but they have a salsas sidebar!!!)
I could've stopped there, but I decided to try a side salad! The side salad has chips! (OM6th ltr of the alphabet G! I've got some chips to go with the beans! (& a tasty little side salad too!)
Everything was grand. Hot and fresh - and this at 11pm+!
( Before posting this comment I read through a few previous comments. Somebody whinged about the taco shells could be bigger. Taco Bell & Del taco use 6" shells, but anything with a whiff of authenticity (& all of Mexico) use 4.5" shells.
Someone else bemoaned 'where's the flavor?' The flavor is in the ingredients and preparation - not the shovel full of MSG a lot of local food is ah... sautéed in!)
I reiterate... Late night, hot, fresh and very full of flavor food (& my tongue didn't feel like it was going to fall off from a 1,000 cuts via MSG!)
I'll...
Read moreAll my tenants and guests know I'm a die hard Mexican food junkie. We've been to "almost all" the shops, contests, pop-ups... and just surprised by the influx of Mexican food into the Saigon foodie scene over the past decade. This spot is primo and it's been open 2 years.
Tacos Fuego tastes like home. From the chili sauces, guacamole, to the smothered "wet" burrito... this joint reminds me of the OC- Orange County SoCal.
SUPER fries! With Carne Asada?!??!? Winner. Birria style pan fried taco. Winner. Baja Fish taco. Winner. Asada and ground beef soft tacos. Winner. They even had churros! You get the picture. Winner. A lot of pics actually.
Food was fresh, flavors were on point, and authentic too.
This was our 1st time here, definitely will not be the last. We still need to try the tortas, quesadillas, and enchiladas. Our eyes were bigger than our tummies so we ordered a bit of everything. Portions are HUGE! Staff is helpful and the owner even stopped by to see how we were doing.
Try this place if you're craving the SoCal/OC/San Diego style Mexican grub. You're gonna...

On June 8th, 2025, after a cozy family movie night, my family of six went online to search for a great place to eat. We browsed a few options and eventually landed on Taco Fuego—and we're so glad we gave it a shot of our evening.
From the very first bite, the food surprised us in the best way. Their tacos and nachos were full of flavor, freshness, and fun, and the mocktails? Honestly, the mocktails were a highlight too—bright, refreshing, and really elevated the whole experience.
But what truly set the evening apart wasn’t just the meal—it was the warmth that came with it. To the manager and your waitress: thank you for your story, your kindness, and the hospitality you so clearly love to share. It made a difference, and it stayed with us.
The service was smooth, the food came out fast, and the whole vibe made for a really memorable family evening. I would highly recommend Taco Fuego to anyone craving Mexican food or just looking for a new favourite...
