I recently visited Tartine, a delightful coffee shop, and had the opportunity to sample some of their offerings. Overall, my experience was positive, with delicious food and decent beverages, although the atmosphere and service were average.
One of the highlights of my visit was the salmon sandwich with scrambled eggs. The combination of the perfectly cooked salmon and fluffy scrambled eggs created a delectable harmony of flavors. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the sandwich was satisfying without being overly heavy. It was a savory delight that left me wanting more.
Another item that caught my attention was the smoothie bowl with kefir, fruits, and nuts. This refreshing and healthy treat was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. The smoothie bowl was beautifully presented, with a vibrant array of colorful fruits and a generous sprinkling of crunchy nuts. The kefir added a tangy creaminess to the bowl, creating a delightful balance of flavors. It was a nourishing and indulgent choice that left me feeling energized and satisfied.
Moving on to the beverages, the iced latte I ordered was decent, although it didn't particularly stand out. It had a good balance between the espresso and milk, but it lacked that extra touch of boldness or distinct flavor that would have made it exceptional. While it was enjoyable, I couldn't help but feel that there was room for improvement in terms of its taste and presentation.
The atmosphere at Tartine was pleasant, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. It had a typical coffee shop ambiance, with cozy seating arrangements and a relaxed vibe. However, I felt that it lacked a unique character or charm that would set it apart from other similar establishments. That being said, it provided a comfortable environment for enjoying a meal or catching up with friends.
The service at Tartine was nice 🙂
In conclusion, Tartine is a nice coffee shop with delicious food options. The salmon sandwich with scrambled eggs and the smoothie bowl with kefir, fruits, and nuts were both exceptional in taste and presentation. The iced latte was enjoyable, albeit not outstanding. While the atmosphere and service were average, Tartine still provides a comfortable setting for a satisfying meal. I would recommend giving it a try if you're in the area and looking for a pleasant...
Read moreI was looking forward to finally visiting this place after months of seeing the beautiful photos online and living next door while it was being built. My wife and I came in about 6:50pm and there were 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant. The staff just looks at us with a blank stare, no greeting, nothing, and we choose our table near the front. Eventually the server brings us our dirty, sticky menus and barely mumbles "Hello" after I greeted her first. After she makes a phone call she finally comes back to take our order. The wife, who had been needing a cocktail for some time since we had just left our two month old at home with grandma to go out that night, ordered a mojito, and I asked for an IPA and a glass. Besides the beer not being very cold, the mojito had zero mint leaves or flavor of any kind. This is kind of a crucial ingredient for the cocktail and the server made no mention of it when we ordered. Not only was the service poor, they had decided that 7pm was the perfect time to have a crew disassembling and reassembling the dining tables outside the entrance with banging on metal with a hammer over and over and over with no sign of stopping. You couldn't hear yourself think, much less enjoy some sort of dining experience. We were disappointed, skipped ordering food, paid for our drinks, and went across the street for a great meal at Tiger Salad. The staff did try and understand the issue and was apologetic which is why there is a slight chance maybe one day we could possibly return. I know service is not a part of the culture here and you don't work for tips, but at least greet your guests and communicate that a vital ingredient is not available if someone...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked in, it was evident that the staff lacked basic hospitality training and attention to detail.
Dining with my family for brunch - my order seemed simple enough: a ham and cheese toasted sandwich, explicitly requesting no tomato. However, not once, but twice, my sandwich returned to the table with the unwanted tomato - and it was clear the staff did not wan to prepare a fresh sandwich without the tomato. (Obviously the staff are concerned about the attitude/feedback of management)
It's not just the mistake itself that bothered me; it was the sheer lack of effort on the part of the staff to rectify the situation. When I pointed out the error (twice), their response was apathetic at best. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, they merely shrugged it off as if it was inconsequential. This kind of attitude reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.
Aside from the blatant disregard for customer preferences, the service throughout the meal was lackluster. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive. It's as if they were going through the motions without any genuine care for the diners' experience.
Overall, I cannot recommend Tartine to anyone seeking a satisfying dining experience. The staff's inability to listen to customer requests and their lack of hospitality training are glaring issues that need immediate attention. If they wish to thrive in the competitive restaurant industry, they must invest in their staff's training and improve their customer service. Until then, I suggest looking elsewhere for a restaurant that values its patrons and their dining...
