My first and last time here. Lots of people came by for lunch. I had their cơm hến (50.000 VND), which is rice with baby clams and raw veggies. The taste was decent and the veggies appeared fresh. It does have crispy fried pork pieces on top, which was not stated on the menu. Good to always ask the waiter if the particular dish has pork thrown in, in case you don’t eat pork. I don’t prefer them, so I placed those pieces to the side. I also had a fresh coconut drink for 35.000 VND. You can ask them to pour out the juice and scrape the coconut meat out for you. That was nice of them to do. I wish the coconut water was cold, it was a bit warm.
I have been in Vietnam for nearly 3 weeks now and I have yet to get sick 🤢 until now. I have eaten raw veggies at places too and I also carry a travel medicine to reduce chance of illness.
However, after about 2 hours from eating this food, I began to feel extremely nauseous. This eventually led to multiple rounds of vomiting. 🤮
Now, I am not sure if it’s how they store their clams or clean their veggies, but there is a tendency to store snails in Vietnam that can cause it to spoil. I and even Vietnamese locals, have gotten stomachaches from eating at places that serve snails because they get stored outside not refrigeratorated. Perhaps, this was the case with the clams.
I share this to provide caution. Maybe if you avoid what I got, you may be fine. However, I could not in good conscience recommend you order any sort of seafood (clams) at this...
Read moreI recently dined at Hue Corner and it was an unforgettable experience! The bún chả giò was, without a doubt, the highlight of the meal. The rice noodles were perfectly cooked—light and fluffy, providing the ideal base for the dish. The spring rolls were crispy and packed with flavor, and they paired wonderfully with the fresh herbs and vegetables.
What truly impressed me was the balance of flavors. The dipping sauce was a perfect combination of sweet, sour, and savory, enhancing every bite. The grilled pork was succulent and smoky, cooked to perfection, and it added a rich depth to the dish.
The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. I also appreciated the clean and vibrant decor, which truly made me feel like I was dining in a little corner of Vietnam.
If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Thao Dien, I cannot recommend Hue Corner enough. I will definitely be returning for another round of that amazing...
Read moreThis is one of my favorurite restaurants in Thao Dien, In general I love Hue style food. They tend to be smaller plates which allows me to sample more than a single dish at a time. I also love spiciness which is a signature of Hue cuisine. It's also very elegant style of cuisine and is different from regular Vietnamese cuisine that one is normally associated with. I like their morning glory with garlic, soups, either with mushroom or shrimp. Their rolls are available in both fried and unfried versions. They have rice vermicelli dishes. So far everything I've tried is very good. They also have western dishes, which I have not tried but why would one eat that unless you have a problem person in the group who will only eat western plates. The better solution then would be to get rid of the problem. Also I love their new location, its set back into a long alley way which then opens to a parking area in front of the restaurant which has garden seating...
