Well it took me 5 days to write this post, since I was nastily sick after visiting this bistro. I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt it was my social obligation to report the experience here. My office colleagues and I went to get some lunch. To begin with, the food did not show up at our table for 40 mins. And once we started eating two of us started getting a scratchy throat ( we exchanged notes later). Didn’t read much into it except the food tasted like mixed with detergent. One of them had ordered a steak which was the fattiest steak I’ve ever seen, and the mashed potatoes had cleaning microfibres in it. They were kind enough to waiver off the steak charges. They also offered us a complimentary dessert, which we refused thankfully. Two of us got miserably sick, and it’s been five days and yet not fully recovered. The place reeks of smoke, and that’s what I initially thought was causing scratchy throat. We enjoyed an amazing family dinner at The BLACKSHEEP at Malandro that truly exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, professional, and thoughtful — they even handled parking for us, which was a welcome touch in busy District 1.
The food was incredible — fresh ingredients, beautifully plated dishes, and flavors that showed real creativity and care. Every course, from the entrees to the desserts, was delicious and memorable. The cocktails were a true highlight — bold, unique, and on par with the best bars in New York.
The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed, with background music that sets the perfect mood without overwhelming conversation. The entire space is beautifully designed and full of vibrant, positive energy.

I came in hungry and left completely satisfied. I ordered the lamb, which was cooked to perfection—soft, flavorful, and elevated by a standout sauce that brought everything together beautifully. The cilantro rice it was paired with added a refreshing, herbaceous touch that made each bite even better.
To finish things off, I had the dark chocolate torte. It was everything you’d want in a dessert: soft, rich, and packed with deep chocolate flavor. It was the perfect ending to an already impressive meal.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area—whether it’s for a full dinner or just dessert and drinks, The Black Sheep...
