I also visited their Rooftop bar at night and was absolutely blown away by the mesmerizing city views which were one of the best views I’ve seen in HCMC from a rooftop! 1). Payment System: We chose to do PRE-PAY so we do not have to pay at the hotel. Upon arrival, the card they have CHARGED on, they couldn’t do a verification on which usually does happen when I travel overseas. So I gave them another card of mine with the same name to do a verification. Off they go, they took the deposit. Upon my checkout today, the lady Tuyen at the checkout counter told me, they want me to PAY the hotel amount AGAIN!!! Because they cannot verify my card. WHAT LOGIC IS THIS? I brought my UK card along, I gave them my other credit card, I gave them my passport: they want me to PAY FOR MY HOTEL STAY that was already PREPAID!!!! For GOD SAKE!!! The manager said it is the owner and the policy??! What STUPID POLICY IS THIS??!?!! When you have TAKEN MY MONEY FROM MY CARD AND i have PAID for my credit card bill AND YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME AGAIN?!(!?!!!!!! This is the ONLY HOTEL IN VIETNAM that has this request!!! I can UNDERSTAND if I did not prepay!!! AND I CAN UNDERSTAND if you did not SUCCESSFULLY CHARGED MY CARD But I have PREPAID for my hotel!!!! LOOK AT THE TRANSACTION ON MY CREDIT CARD ATTACHED.
2). ROOM SERVICE: I asked for two things: 1- my steak to be medium, it came with nearly well done and it was rubbery 2- on the menu, it says i can ask for two types of eggs cooking method - i asked for sunny side up and poached. It came with both sunny side up
3). CONCIERGE SERVICE: First concierge service was great. Second time, i ordered some food but i was in a meeting, they said they are busy so they cannot deliver now to my room, i had to wait 20mins. When i went into a meeting after my request, my colleague in the same hotel asked if i had dinner, i said not yet as i have back to back meeting. They just told me they are busy and i had to wait 20mins. My colleague was shocked, she said no one was at the concierge when she came in, just to rush for our meeting online with our colleagues in the UK. And guess what? I waited for an hour and had to call them after my meeting, only then they deliver my food.
This morning during my checkout, the staff came to me and said we called your room for your food delivery, but no one picks up the phone. Someone called? When? I was in the room the whole time doing my packing as i was checking out. But to be honest, I did not ask for room delivery, i told the delivery guy to tell the hotel that I will pick up my food. In all honesty, if they wouldn’t have said they called me, I really wouldn’t think of anything. Why said they call when they never? 😳😳😳
With all these issues now, I seriously don’t think I will be back again JUST IN CASE they take my money TWICE another time! I think Accor really have to think and the owner have to think twice about this stupid shitty policy! U charged and people paid and YOU CHARGED AGAIN! Loan shark are you?
And SIMILAR THING happened to my friend and colleague that stayed in this hotel.
DONT TAKE YOUR CUSTOMER’s money through PREPAY AND ASK US TO PAY AGAIN!!!!! This is SOOOOO RIDICULOUS!!!!!
Grand Mercure in Hanoi dont do that, neither Novotel Thai Hanoi, Nor Mercure La Gare as well. It is PREPAY SYSTEM!!!!
ANGRY & DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER!!!
I feel sooo sorry for the staff at the check-in for getting all these angry customers that are trying to understand this stupid policy that didn’t make sense to anyone! You took our money on our card and we paid for it - then we travel and you want us to PAY AGAIN)!!!
What risk are you involving here? When you have to charged me twice? How about the currency exchange loss? And STRESS OF...

We usually stayed here coz of Accor membership and the benefits that come with it. The rooms are good, clean and big enough. Lounge is good too.
But after our recent experience, was terrible .
We stayed last week and were scheduled to leave on 25th April. Out of nowhere, at around 1:45 PM, we got a call saying we had to leave the hotel by 3 PM because roads were getting blocked and we need to leave .
I was out in the city at the time and had to drop everything and rush back .
We had a confirmed late check-out till 4 PM and planned to stay in the lounge until 7 PM. Should be in hotel notes.
We had already booked a driver for 7 PM pick up and earlier he could come is 3:45.
Our driver tried to reach the hotel but couldn’t because of the closure, so we were asked to walk nearly 500 -600 meters
We have two small children (a 2-year-old baby and a 5-year-old) and all our luggage.
Here’s the most disgraceful part: there were five hotel staff in white shirts standing around chatting—not one of them offered to help. I asked the lady manager if we could take a luggage trolley to the car and return it after, just so we could carry the kids and bags safely. We will return it with the driver.
She looked at the concierge, and he simply shook his head. No support. No decency. No accountability.
When I questioned the lady manager, she shrugged and said, "What can we do if the police told us late?" Really? What do you mean by that? It’s your hotel, your responsibility. It's your job to ensure we are taken care of when the situation is happening in your area. Did you tell us when we are booking? Your failure to plan is not our burden to carry.
You didn’t even tell us that the roadblock was just till 500 meters and rest all is fine. That small detail could’ve helped us coordinate better. But instead, you gave us vague instructions and left us to figure it out on our own—with kids and bags in tow—while your staff stood doing absolutely nothing. Look at your CCTV footage—you’ll see exactly how shamefully the situation was handled.
This wasn’t just bad service. It was a complete breakdown of basic hospitality and human decency. You don’t just sell rooms—you promise care, comfort, and accountability. All of which were missing that day.
Shame on the management and the staff involved. You should be embarrassed by how you treat your guests.
Also the massage in the hotel is a scam; incorrect pricing , charging extra money for oils and laughing at guests, while talking in native language....
