Christmas dinner at the Lotte Saigon Hotel was an eventful experience, one I won’t soon forget. After all, it’s not every day that a festive evening ends with a full refund, a lengthy apology, and a polite request to replace a 1-star review with a glowing 5 stars. Let’s unpack the adventure, shall we? The initial promise of a premium Christmas buffet was captivating—what could go wrong with lavish decorations, a traditional menu, and even Santa Claus? Plenty, it turns out. My original review detailed the shortcomings: inconsistent service, rationed portions, bland food, and an atmosphere that felt more "office Christmas lunch" than luxury holiday experience. But here’s where it gets interesting—the hotel’s response. Their reply opens with a heartfelt apology and a claim of miscommunication. While I appreciate the sentiment, the explanation that the buffet staff was there to “serve proper portions” and “enhance the dining experience” left me puzzled. Proper portions? My experience involved carefully rationed meat and a cheese station so sparsely stocked it resembled the aftermath of a supermarket clearance sale. If rationing enhances anything, I must have missed the memo. The hotel also reassures me that their “beautiful decorations” and “festive music” were designed to create a joyful atmosphere. I regret to inform them that listening to “Jingle Bells” on repeat at jet-engine volume only enhanced my migraine. As for Santa Claus, I apparently missed his grand appearance at 7:00 PM. Perhaps he was too busy delivering cheese to the buffet. Their clarification about their refund policy deserves special attention. According to them, “essential information” was provided at the time of reservation. Yet, it took multiple follow-ups and emails to discover the need for full payment in advance—a detail missing from their promotional materials. Communication, it seems, was as elusive as their festive spirit. Now, about the refund. I received confirmation that Hotel Finance completed the refund of 3,374,784 VND on 14th January 2024 and that it would take two days to process. While I appreciate the gesture, it’s worth noting that the refund was offered because the service fell spectacularly short of expectations—not as a bribe to erase an honest review. The polite email requesting my “cooperation on withdrawing bad review” was, I’ll admit, a nice touch, but I must clarify: my original review was written to reflect the genuine experience. The refund does not negate what transpired that evening. So, here we are. The refund has been processed, my experience remains unforgettable, and Lotte Saigon Hotel gets to decide whether they value honest feedback or a perfect Google rating. If you’re looking for a dinner that includes a side of life lessons about customer service, Lotte Saigon Hotel is worth considering. But as for my rating, I can confidently say it reflects the evening I had—no more, no less. Happy holidays, and may your next festive dinner meet your expectations without...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home, especially the manager Mia and Aaron. Their attentiveness and genuine care for guests stood out throughout my stay.
One of the highlights was the Executive Lounge access, which was available at any time, offering a perfect escape from the busy areas of the hotel. The lounge was private, comfortable, and offered a welcoming atmosphere to relax or get some work done. The quality of the food served there was excellent, with a variety of options that exceeded my expectations.
The breakfast buffet was also a standout, offering a wide selection that catered to all tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you were craving something savory, sweet, or healthy, the variety and quality of the food ensured a great start to the day. Tyler's service was incredible.
Overall, this hotel provided an exceptional experience, with its warm staff, excellent food options, and the added luxury of Executive Lounge access. I highly recommend it and look forward...
Read moreGood buffet with a nice variety of seafoods! There are sashimis, scallops, abalones, lobsters, and even foie gras. They mainly focus on the seafood aspect, which is nice and lives up to the name, but lack a lot of the other food dishes - I know it’s not why people come here, but some decent other dishes would be nice. Despite being a 5 star buffet in a 5 star hotel, the cooked foods are cold and a bit unappealing looking. For example, the pasta was precooked, but considering pasta can get quite soggy, this wasn’t the best way.
The desserts are quite nice. They had some gelato flavors that aren’t super common like cherry blossom or rum raisin. I really liked the rum raisin one! They also have other cakes and flan - I just got the flan. They also offer free drinks like coffee at the bar, or sugarcane drink that is pretty cool for a buffet.
Also tips: They do not display some seafoods or dishes they offer, like lobsters and foie gras, so you’d have to ask them if you want those.
Just come for the seafood and some desserts and...
