Ottimo House Trattoria — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I ate at Ottimo last week. I was really looking forward to the experience as a Singapore friend had advised it was his favorite restaurant in HCM.

Firstly the online menu is not accurate. The online show tenderloin and several other dishes that the restaurant does not serve.

Even though only 3 other tables in the restaurant were taken it took a long time for meals to be served.

However that is not where everything went almost tragically wrong.

The restaurant serves a dessert with dry ice in a cup inside it. The waiters provided no advice as to the eating of the dessert. The sauce is all inside the cup inside the desert that originally the dry ice was steaming from.

As the dessert is very dry and with the waiters standing around watching I took some of the sauce in the cup with the dessert and ate it. Unknown to me the dry ice was still in the sauce.

Smoke immediately started coming out of my nose and mouth. My teeth snap froze shut against each other as I bit into the dry ice accidently.

Some the dry ice went down my throat. My dinner companions immediately told me this was exceptionally dangerous and could burn a hole in my stomach as I had swallowed some.

The restaurant management staff all came out and watched as smoke came out of my mouth but no one approached me.

I left for a pharmacy to buy antacid to neutralize my stomach. I threw up and felt extremely ill. I took four satchel of antacid bit still fell a cold burn down my throat.

I sent the restaurant a message later explaining how dangerous this was as I could as the worst case have died or being in hospital with serious injuries. The restaurant asked me to come back and dine again to give them a second chance.

I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant as they clearly have no appreciation of their customers...

Upon entering Ottimo House Trattoria at the five-star Lotte Hotel, we anticipated an innovative culinary experience in Italian cuisine.

Overall, the food was decent; the burrata and pasta were highlights, while the pizza fell short of expectations. The Chicken Parmesan was average and needed hot sauce for added flavor. The service was commendable, but an incident afterward left us dissatisfied.

We received an email regarding the absence of one party member, citing food wastage as a concern. It is important to clarify that we ordered from the à la carte menu. While we understand concerns related to set lunches, the inability to adapt food production does not fall within our responsibility.

Additionally, we were disappointed by the atmosphere. Contrary to numerous reviews praising its liveliness, the restaurant was nearly empty on a Friday night, which raised concerns about...

If you are looking for an Italian restaurant for lunch, dinner or simply a place to hanging out with friends then Ottimo House is your Ideal destination.

Every time I come back, It always amazes me. I was impressed by the restaurant spacious area filled with greens and charming vibe facilities.

My friend and I had some pizza for dinner. Big shout-out to Đang, who made for us absolutely delicious pizzas. They were not just only look mouth-watering but also the flavour, we enjoyed alot.

Our dinner experience was amazing with the service of restaurant team, big thanks to Adam, Brie, Harmony, Kenny and Phuong Anh. Even though the restaurant was packaged with customers, they were able to bring out the best service with smiles you could ever ask for. They even helped me took a picture. Definitely recommend for everyone...
