Nestled in the heart of District 1, The Triệu Institute Ho Chi Minh City is a hidden gem that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. This upscale Vietnamese cocktail bar, created by the team behind the renowned Lady Trieu Gin distillery, offers an intimate and sophisticated ambiance that transports you to a world of refined indulgence.
Spread across two floors, with an inviting outdoor balcony, The Triệu Institute pays homage to the legendary Vietnamese heroine Ba Trieu, whose spirit permeates every aspect of the establishment. The decor is a harmonious blend of contemporary and traditional elements, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the culinary and cocktail experience.
The contemporary Vietnamese cuisine at The Triệu Institute is a true delight, showcasing the rich flavors and diverse influences that have shaped the country's culinary heritage. Each dish is a masterpiece of artistry, meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients and presented with impeccable attention to detail.
However, the true stars of the show are the bespoke craft cocktails featuring Lady Trieu Gins. These expertly crafted libations are a testament to the skill and creativity of the bar's mixologists, who have mastered the art of blending unique Vietnamese botanicals and flavors to create truly exceptional and memorable drinks.
As someone who has visited numerous cocktail bars around the world, I can confidently say that The Triệu Institute Ho Chi Minh City is one of my favorites. The service is impeccable, with knowledgeable and attentive staff who are passionate about their craft and dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience for every guest.
It's worth noting that the prices at The Triệu Institute are on the higher end, reflecting the quality of the ingredients, the expertise of the staff, and the overall ambiance of the establishment. However, for those seeking a truly exceptional and authentic Vietnamese cocktail and dining experience, it is an investment well...
Read moreThe must-visit place this week is The Trieu Institute. Actually I’ve been to this place quite often to meet up with friends. The drinks are decently good, top-notch gin and flavour. It is considered a journey of your senses vibing with great stories as they use their original gin and different local ingredients. It is extraordinary and different to other places. If you want to just enjoy the drinks and avoid the crowd, check this place out. Not only their drinks are tasty, their dishes are delicious too.
I started my night with Elephant charge (Con voi xong tran). This is always my first drink to have here. It has the balance of sweet and sour going well with their special salt to elevate the taste. It pairs well with food as their homemade butter and bread, their fried sake and chicken wings. My partner had his Reverse Clover Club. We both agreed that they use great amount of gin here so their drinks are always in high quality and strong taste.
My second drink is The Heart of Mountain (Trai tim cua nui). They smoked their herb to strengthen the flavor. This drink is still sweet and sour so it went well with the food. My partner had Nep Cam VN. I highly recommend this drink if you like something strong.
My third one was Dalat Godfather. They use their Dalat flowerbomb gin and make their own chocolate and berry purée as garnish. They complemented each other well. My partner had his classic Gin and Tonic to end the night.
I also quite like the service here. The bartenders are professional and attentive to customers, just enough to make you feel...

Now I'm not a huge seafood fan (but I don't hate it, but it's usually not my go-to) but apon recommendation from the staff I tried the oysters...so, the staff were correct the flavours were perfectly accompanied by the super fresh oysters. I then ordered almost every other seafood dish on the menu, again, just amazing and fresh. Now I also tend not to drink anymore, but again at the recommendation of staff I tried all of the signature gins (all made in vietnam using local ingredients and herbs) You can purchase bottles of this fantastic gin to take home from the restaurants merch shop, but be warned, you will end up purchasing at least 1 bottle of each variety, and possibly a head scarf and or robe (yes this place has some unexpected and high quality merch, the pattern and material of the robes are stunning). So to summarise my experience at the trieu institute, I learnt I enjoy food I usually don't, and drinking...
