We where really lucky to find bees wonderful place. We went 8 times and enjoyed many wonderful vegan dishes. Everything is done meticulously; bee makes his own clean ice and even washes everything with cooked and salted water so you can eat also fresh food without a second thought there.
The place itself is decorated beautifully and feels like a mixture of a neighborhood cafe and a gompa, as there is Mantra music playing creating a very peaceful atmosphere.
A bunch of locals come to eat there or pick up food over the day, still It feels like a little refuge from all the chaos and bustling of Saigon and it was perfect to calm down there in the evening. If you come a couple of times you might become friends with bee, lam, his grandmother and the other neighbors...
I should note that bee is a mushroom specialist, so he can introduce you to some mushrooms you have probably never eaten before (don’t be scared and ask for this!!). Our favorite was the goat leg mushroom, which posses a extreme firm consistency with stringy qualities to it... fried with chili and lemongrass in the vegan pho it tastes similar to beef which has been cooked for hours.
If you bring some friends we dearly recommend trying the mushroom hotpot and the fresh guava juice!
The cherry on top was that nothing is expensive. You actually pay much less than in other places in the neighborhood.
Thank you and see you soon...
Read moreLittle shop with great taste. They had great natural lighting (perfect for breakfast or brunch) and comfortable low seats. Foods were quiet exceptional, we had:
Mi xao gion (4.5 star) Pad Thai (3.5 star) Thai hot pot (4 star)
The food quality were fresh and every dish well made. Price was really great too. 50,000vnd for all dishes except hot pot(100,000vnd per person).
Their service was very friendly. The staff explained the dishes and how to cook hot pot and accommodated with our request to order one person portion of hotpot even when we were 2 people. They also have a dog :3
They had too much decoration with Buddhist idols and altar, may not suit modern design, but if you don’t mind that, everything...
We just had dinner there and it was absolutely great. He was paying attention to every detail , even remaking my dish without me saying anything as he saw I didn't like the spicy sauce. Even if its close to the noisiest Street in Saigon it made us feel like if we were in a remote and chill place. Cheap and rich dishes. Really...
