Cannot understand the raving reviews of the place. First of all the whole place looks more like a japanese fast food chain restaurant than a place where you want to stay and enjoy matcha. Some of the staff are very friendly and attentive, others appear disinterested and bored. They weren't able to answer any questions about the matcha, where it's from, what the difference between the premium and normal matcha is they sell etc. The Matcha itself is nothing special. Too sweet, too much ice, not balanced. Especially the standard matcha Latte has a terribly lingering bitter aftertaste, which usually just means that the matcha they use is the lowest quality. The premium matcha is a bit better, but also nothing to rave about. Also don't expect the matcha Tiramisu to come in the cute packaging as in their menu, it just comes in a plastic cup. It's also not worth the money, since it has a weird sour flavor which is just wrong in Tiramisu. So overall definitely a very overrated place, I cannot...
Read moreMatcha is one of my favorites, because two people nearly stole my bag riding at me on a motorcycle outside on the walking street behind here, I am celebrating.
The outside area isn't nice, but inside is good in the day, as not many people are there Mon to fri. But in the evenings, there are too many people and it's so loud.
I like the cake, but I suggest you have a non sugar matcha with it, to even it out. However, if you are not having the cake, then perhaps have the sugar version.
The choices are huge. Maybe choose the matcha cake first or the matcha drink with the ice-cream.
I saw Japanese people in here too, so they probably like the store in their home country. I think that the price is a bit pricier than the other matcha store nearby. For me, I'll probably go to the other one next time because I also prefer the environment.
Check the wifi password. And don't ask them to tell you it. You might laugh for ages.

Read moreThis is a good place for matcha lover to fulfill their dream of indulging themself in matcha. it is locate in district 1 where there is a lot of good hotels and restaurant around it. It is just around 5 to 10 minutes from Bùi Viện. the staff member were quite friendly and helpful. They can modify the drink base on the customer needs and diet. it has quite a menu that has a lot of matcha drinks and desserts. And even if you do not like matcha, the place has other dishes that would most likely surprise you. the drink and the desserts were quite decent, especially things that have anything to do with matcha. the place is a bit small. the price is a bit stiff. In conclusion, Japanit matcha & coffee house is quite a decent place to get your daily dose of matcha if you are a matcha fan. This place is, however, smaller than the one on Cao Thang street and the price is a bit high, which can be a...
