Gecko Restaurant — Restaurant in Hue City

The wine price here is super expensive and not reasonable. It was an accident because the waitress didn’t understand English well. We would like to order one glass of white wine but she brought 1 bottle. It was our fault that we accepted that. Because we thought that it would be cheap. We paid one bottle of white wine with 1.650.000 VND. The restaurant is just a normal one not fancy. This white wine price is for fine dinning restaurant. When we paid, we talked to the waitress that it was a mistake but we would pay for that. Then she answered that they don’t sell wine per glass only bottle. If so why she didn’t inform us in advance. She didn’t give us a reasonable explanation or an apology for that. My family is German but we know how to use money. Please don’t think that because we are foreigner or tourist there, so your restaurant can charge with a freaking expensive price. I wrote an email and sent a message to your Facebook but no one replies. I would like to inform the other tourist in advance about...

I. Love. This. Place.

Guys, I am sitting here the second night in a row, having dinner and a drink and I couldn’t be more happy (nobody asked me for a review btw).

Yesterday I had a pizza with mushrooms, mushroom and tomato sauce and cheese and it was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s. and the shroomies looked and tasted like freshly picked from the fields. The mojito was also good and the prices honestly unbelievable.

Today I treated myself with a cocktail named Blue Diamond which also tasted beautiful and went way too well with the literally perfect mango salad I ordered.

This place is everything a person could be looking for in a restaurant: fresh and delicious food for a good price, a beautiful atmosphere (lights, plants, harmonious with a beautiful + authentic decor and chill music), cute waitresses in a lively but not too loud street.

I honestly couldn’t be more happy. 11/10 would recommend.

I'm willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt and just assume that it's the fact I ordered one of the worse items on the menu. I ordered the chicken burger and what arrived surprised me, instead of a chicken fillet or patty, i got pieces of chicken instead. Honestly made for a hard time eating as the pieces went everywhere, the amount of soft bone in there made it hard to eat. The flavour itself was fine so i haven't written it off entirely. My friends ordered a pizza which was pretty good for SEA standards and not immensely expensive either. They are 11-12", i know it wasn't made fully clear by them. Its a nice place, genuinely a cute little place and the staff are nice. Just the food needs...
