AURA - Mixology & Karaoke — Restaurant in Hue City

Update: My previous review is below and I will keep it as is, it was all 5 stars.

I visited AURA two nights in a row, I spent a lot of time and money there and genuinely enjoyed my time!

The bar staff are amazing, I was fortunate enough to be served by Thao, Thien and Ngoc, they were some of the most pleasant people I have met while on my trip to Vietnam.

At the end of the second night I had the bill brought out to me and I counted up cash 4 or 5 times, I have been very meticulous about my cash while in Vietnam.

I sat down with Thao and we counted one final time together and both agreed that I had the correct amount of cash, I handed it over and we started grabbing our things to leave (12 of us).

Just before we walked out of the door, the manager, Tung, came out and informed me I had underpaid him by 400,000 which was odd because of how many times i had counted up the cash AND I had sat down with Thao and counted together.

Regardless, I took him at face value and paid the 400.

Later that evening I balanced out all my receipts and ATM withdrawals and found I was short 400,000.

Very upsetting end to what was otherwise an enjoyable...

Nice private place with interesting cocktails.

Update: I initially gave 4 stars because they asked us to leave a review. At first, I said I'd have given it after I finished my drink but they insisted saying that they would have offered a snack (first red flag).

Okay fine. 4 stars because the drinks were interesting and I wanted to repay their kindness.

But oh boy, what could have been a nice and relaxed evening turned into a very uncomfortable one.

I don't know if it happened because we were the only ones in the bar, but they kept pressuring us to buy more stuff. E.g., to buy more cocktails when we did not even finish the first one, or they would just stare at us... They would not leave us alone to enjoy our drinks. It started okay and became super unpleasant to be there.

We left as soon as we finished our drinks, which were interesting but nothing exceptional worth the 140 and 120 dong. Ah, they don't accept card.

Bottom line, don't be fooled by the high rating here. Chances are that most people were talked into leaving a nice review. For us, the cocktails were okayish and the service felt...
