We arrived without a booking, and the maitre d kindly fit us in with a 25 minute wait. No problem, there are plenty of bars just opposite. The best part is that she came over to let us know the table was ready for us and even let us take our drinks into her establishment. Perfect! The food is so good at Madame Thu’s. We had the pancakes, sticky rice balls, spring rolls, Bun Bo Hue and the bbq pork with vermicelli. All of it was exceptionally tasty. The Bun Bo Hue might be a bit of a culture shock if you’re very new to asian food. It’s fishier than you might expect and will take a while to get used to. Every member of staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. They will explain how to eat it as they comes out and they speak english well, so this restaurant is great for tourists, hence why the clientele is mostly foreigners. My partner and I were stuffed and the total bill was very reasonable. The same amount of food would have cost us nearly £50 in the UK. At Madame Thu’s we left incredibly satisfied at the cost of 217,500vnd. If you’re staying nearby or passing through, put this place on your list for dinner.

We had one night in Hue before heading to Da Nang. There were so many options for restaurants and bars on this street, but we were glad to have stopped at Madam Thu for dinner. We sat outside to soak in the street atmosphere of both locals and tourists walking by. They have quite an extensive menu, including a tasting menu if you are not too sure or simply want a little taste of Hue specialties. We opted for seafood noodles and more traditional banh beo (soft rice cake) and banh bot loc (shrimp and pork wrapped in banana leaf and tapioca). All three dishes were tasty, especially the traditional fare. Service was friendly and prompt with explanations from our server on how to eat/wrap the local dishes. The price was very reasonable and they even included a complimentary fruit platter at the end of our meal! Be sure to check this place out!

I recently dined at a restaurant that left me absolutely speechless. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, the service was top-notch, and the food was simply amazing. I ordered the chef's Set Menu - Taste of all Hue,s special and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Every bite was bursting with flavour and perfectly cooked. The presentation was also beautiful, almost too good to eat! The drinks were also fantastic, perfectly complementing the meal. Overall, I had a bloody awesome experience at this restaurant. I would rate it 10/10 and would recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were all impeccable, and I can't wait to go back for more!

We got this place recommended by our tourist guide. Due to my seafood intolerance we are limited in the amount of dishes we can order, so maybe other seafood dishes are better than what we order. We got the chicken stir-fried with peanut sauce and vermicelli, which came a bit cold to the table and was just average. And also the beef stir-fried plate with rice, which was better than the chicken one, but nothing out of the extraordinary. It’s true that the restaurant was clean, friendly staff and not expensive prices, but I don’t think the review of 4,7 that has this restaurant at the moment of this review reflects reality. Also, we got for free some fruit at the end as dessert, which was a nice gesture

I came to this place from some reviews on google map and trip advisor. Come to this place and need to wait around 30 minutes to get a chair. The staff was friendly, they are trying to speak English although they found some difficulties. They have a set menu for 1 person or 2 people, Ala carte menu also available if you don't want to eat the set menu. Price was cheap, a portion of food just enough for me. They provided local Vietnamese in Hue style. Whenever staff comes to deliver your food they will explain how to eat this food, whether wrap it on rice paper or just use a spoon to eat. I enjoyed my food here and turn all the food is delicious. You should come to this place when you visited Hue.

We had the tasting plate and while you should know it’s definitely not the cheapest in the area, we felt it was one of the better versions of each dish on it. A good place to come and order one of these for two people to share and decide what you like so that you can go elsewhere to order more. The atmosphere is better than similar area restaurants that offer tasting plates, and there was a detailed explanation given for how to eat each dish and the waitress even came over to help when we got confused about the many sauces. Around 5pm the staff eats a family meal together which we felt lucky to be there for. They clearly treat staff well and everyone was having a good time.
