We arrived without a booking, and the maitre d kindly fit us in with a 25 minute wait. No problem, there are plenty of bars just opposite. The best part is that she came over to let us know the table was ready for us and even let us take our drinks into her establishment. Perfect! The food is so good at Madame Thu’s. We had the pancakes, sticky rice balls, spring rolls, Bun Bo Hue and the bbq pork with vermicelli. All of it was exceptionally tasty. The Bun Bo Hue might be a bit of a culture shock if you’re very new to asian food. It’s fishier than you might expect and will take a while to get used to. Every member of staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. They will explain how to eat it as they comes out and they speak english well, so this restaurant is great for tourists, hence why the clientele is mostly foreigners. My partner and I were stuffed and the total bill was very reasonable. The same amount of food would have cost us nearly £50 in the UK. At Madame Thu’s we left incredibly satisfied at the cost of 217,500vnd. If you’re staying nearby or passing through, put this place on your...

If you want to experience the true taste of Huế, look no further than Madam Thu Restaurant. This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Vietnamese cuisine, especially the delicate, refined flavors that Huế is known for.
The menu is a beautiful showcase of traditional Huế dishes, each crafted with incredible attention to detail. From the perfectly steamed bánh bèo to the flavorful bún bò Huế, every dish is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented beautifully. The nem lụi (grilled lemongrass skewers) and bánh khoái (crispy Huế pancake) were absolute highlights!
Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and full of charm. The staff are incredibly welcoming, taking the time to explain each dish and ensure you have an amazing experience. It’s the kind of place where you feel not just like a guest, but truly cared for.
For an authentic, memorable Huế dining experience, Madam Thu Restaurant is an absolute gem. Highly recommended—I’ll be back next...
Read moreMe and my partner went here last night for dinner. It was a little more expensive than other places, but we thought the reviews looked good so tried it.
However, I cannot express how ill the both of us have been in the last 12 hours. We both ate exactly the same thing here, so it could only have been here that has given us the most horrendous food poisoning ive ever had. We have now had our last day in Hue ruined because we can't get out of bed.
I think all the reviews seem to be made up from what I can tell, everyone saying the sane thing, and from 'local guides'. It really was nothing special, poor service, ive eaten MUCH better food and no atmosphere. For reference, we had a beef stir fry each, shared the beo cakes starter, and had one glass of fig wine each. They try to present them nicely, but the flavour was not anything to shout about, and then it's made us this ill.
There are so many other places to eat in Hue that are great, it's not...
