Quán Cẩm - Bún Bò Huế — Restaurant in Hue City

My first bowl bún bò Huế in Huế. I have to say it’s delicious! People complain that it’s expensive for the local and I agree. But at the same time, everything has gone up in prices and for a place that has shaded seatings in a relatively clean area, I think the price is worth it for the taste. The broth was nice and savory. They have all of the fixings. Although there weren’t as much meat, it was enough for the size of the bowl. You do get a big chunk of pork hock that is nice and tender. I gave them a 4 for service because the servers were quiet and didn’t interact with customers. Then again, it was 6:15 am and I’m sure they have been up hours earlier to get the food ready. Overall, I enjoyed my first bowl of bún bò Huế in Huế. It’s comparable to my favorite bún bò Huế at home and better than most of the places I’ve been to. I recommend checking...

We were looking up places with good bun bo hue, and this place came up during our search, so we decided to give it a try!

We got there around 8:45pm, and we asked the lady if they were still open, and she said yes. As soon as we sat down, we noticed their hours on the wall, and they apparently closed at 8pm! Nonetheless, they fired up their stove, and served us 2 bowls of bun bo hue. This is the only item on their menu. We love visiting restaurants where they serve only their authentic specialty food, and it did not disappoint! The soup was flavourful, and it had different kinds of meat. They also served us cold tea as well. Each bowl was 50k, and we thought it was reasonable, given the cleaner and more comfortable setting.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal, and would recommend this place!

The Bo Bun Hue here is really good. The soup has a real strong lemongrass flavor to it which I really enjoyed. The beef was tender and I also enjoyed the fish ball. They only serve Bo Bun Hue here and I particularly like places that just do one thing and do it well. For dessert they offer a housemaster yogurt which is also really nice and slightly on the sweet side.

I ordered three bowls of bun, two yogurts, and a water which came out to 190k Vietnamese dong. I have had a bowl of Bo Bun Hue for 20k in the market so I do get where people are coming from. As you will read this is over priced for Hue but feeding three adults and an toddler for 8 US dollars hardly feels like...
