During our recent visit to Khai Hoàn Restaurant in Hue, we had a delightful dining experience that left us eager to return. The ambiance was pleasant, with quiet music that provided a serene backdrop to our meal. The staff were attentive and provided excellent service, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
We started with the seafood salad, which was a standout dish. The fresh seafood was perfectly complemented by a unique vegetable called rau Tiến Vừa, adding a surprising and delightful twist to the flavors. This unexpected ingredient elevated the dish and showcased the restaurant's commitment to using diverse and intriguing ingredients.
Next, we enjoyed the burnt pork edges, which were cooked to perfection. The smoky, crispy edges of the pork were rich and flavorful, making it a satisfying choice for meat lovers.
The clam sour soup was a perfect end to our meal. It had a well-balanced tangy flavor that was both refreshing and comforting. The clams were tender and plentiful, making the soup a hearty and fulfilling dish.
Overall, Khai Hoàn Restaurant provides a wonderful dining experience with its pleasant ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food. It is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable...
Read moreWe stopped by after visiting the palace, and the place itself is stunning. The staff greeted us warmly at the entrance, opened the door, and promptly seated us. Right away, they informed us that they only accept cash which is surprising for such an upscale establishment, but not a major issue.
The décor is elegant with a bohemian flair, and the staff looked lovely in traditional ao dai. The space is spacious, with different dining areas and plenty of large tables suited for groups. Unfortunately, while the ambience and service were excellent, the food left me disappointed.
The recommended goby fish in a clay pot was extremely salty and full of bones. Perhaps that’s typical, but it didn’t work for me. The sauce was nice, though. My avocado smoothie looked beautiful but took a while to arrive and still had ice chunks in it, giving it a watery taste.
My friend ordered a pork dish, which turned out to be tough and bland.
Overall, it’s a decent spot to share a meal with friends and family. The extensive menu might warrant another try but I wouldn’t be in a...
Read moreThis place is nice and clean. The staff is very attentive and efficient. However, I thought the food was mediocre compared to other places I’ve been to. We had a large meal with 7 dishes and I would say 1-2 of them are good while the other dishes are just average. First, the venison has a nice flavor even though my first bite was quite bitter; the subsequent bites were tasty. The tofu stir fried in bean sprouts is reminiscent of my mother’s dish, so I enjoyed it. The fish has decent enough flavor, but mostly bones. The chicken was a little too dry. I would say the melon soup was also decent, but simple. Maybe our tour group served us a cheaper selection? Overall, I was not impressed with...
