As if this place needed any more accolades. This might be one of the best cafes of the planet.
First, the quality of the coffee is extraordinary. They have impeccable sourcing.
Second, they are masters of their craft. This coffee is...I'm lost for words. You just have to taste it to believe it. I've never had a single better coffee than the Tan and their Salted coffee. I mean, they are something much more than coffee. I wouldn't drink these every morning. They are far too rich. You need something more blue collar for day to day coffee. This is more like a coffee experience. The flavors are intense and deeply satisfying. The coffee comes through strong and rings pure, providing a backbone for the other flavors. I think of them more like dessert. But then again, coffee in Vietnam tends to be that way anyway. This place proves that Vietnam might be the best coffee country in the world. Sorry Italy. I love you. You know I do. But...
Third, the atmosphere of this place (chic industrial) and the staff are amazing. True professionals. The service is ON POINT. For instance, im here during the monsoon season. I took a Grab and stopped in front of the Cafe. A staff member of Tan, sitting outside the front door, rushed up to the cab door with an umbrella before I could even open it. I mean, come on.
The coffee is expensive by local standards. 45,000. But that's like less than 2 USD. I spend twice that much on a coffee 3 times less good in Portlad, Oregon (a city known for its coffee).
You can go to Cà Phê Muõi (near Tan) for the original salted coffee for 15,000. It's also awesome and the place I would go for my day to day salted coffee. It's not a dessert but more like what you want to start your day. And the courtyard is gorgeous and relaxing.

Read moreThe space is beautiful, airy, industrial, with high ceilings, concrete walls, leafy nooks, and just enough sunlight to make every corner Instagram-ready. There’s indoor seating, a small garden, and a sidewalk area for people-watching. On a sunny day, the glass roof can turn it into a sauna, but that’s part of the charm.
The coffee is mostly excellent. Salt coffee is the star, rich, creamy, and addictive if you like your coffee with a touch of theatrical flair. Egg coffee and coconut-based drinks are strong contenders, with the banana coconut coffee earning cult status. Matcha fans might feel a little let down; some cups taste bland compared with their price. The pastries are hit or miss: canelés crunch just right, croissants are decent, and a few desserts are more Instagram than indulgence.
Service is a rollercoaster. Staff are often friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful, especially when arranging seating during peak hours. Some days, though, logic disappears: lone guests get squeezed into tiny tables while big groups slide right in. Waiting 40 minutes for drinks while others get theirs first is reportedly common. Restrooms are surprisingly thoughtful, stocked with hair ties and cotton swabs. Parking attendants sometimes steal the show.
Expect crowds, especially on weekends and holidays. The place can feel noisy, but the vibe is cheerful, youthful, and very Hue: locals, tourists, and the occasional hipster merge under one roof. The price point is above the local average, but the quality and the experience justify it if you don’t mind paying for the aesthetics and the show. Sit in the back garden if you want a moment of calm. Order a coconut coffee if you want...
Read moreThe first that hit me is the Menu, it's unique, it's new and very distinct. This coffee place specialty seems to be banana and mixed with other stuff, but the combo I got were amazing. The Hot chocholate, along with a hint of roasted cinnamon with the banana milk adds to creamy and sweet flavour, making this drink very very nice. The other drink that I've ordered is a Passion fruit mixed with coconut milk and banana, although it seems like it will not match but its very unique, it feels both very creamy and rich with a hint of tropical that the passion fruit gave, it's so unique. I did not try the cake yet but it seems nice so definitely will try them out on my second visit.
As for the atmosphere, from the tree hanging on top, with small lamp hanglight and few lampost, inside a building that looks old gives a nostalgic feeling, it's retro yet still modern with a simplistic decoration. Some part of the place have decoration that gives off work vibe so you can totally get in the mood for working here. Its great and I love that there are trees on the inside and the path of trees on...
