I Restaurant — Restaurant in Nha Trang City

The food at this restaurant is amazing. I cannot fault the food at all. However, the service was terrible. Firstly, there was some confusion about whether we ordered some fried rice or french fries. Admittedly, this may have been confusion caused by us/ the language barrier, but when we asked for fried rice instead we were told that can we just eat the french fries instead and laughed at by the staff. Secondly we had a crab which required a seafood cracker, this wasn't provided initially but later provided by the employee who opens the door. The staff then refused to take the plates away and just passed us our bill instead. For a restaurant aimed at tourists, it's the first place we have been to in Vietnam where the staff didn't speak a single word of English so it made all the interactions referred to above very difficult.

Finally, it would appear that the restaurant segregates customers based on race. The white customers were sat at the front of the restaurant whereas the Asian customers were sat behind the glass wall, which looked much nicer and aesthetically pleasing. This may have been a coincidence but I doubt it.

The restaurant's spacious ambiance and attractive decor are its saving graces. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The service was unfriendly and painfully slow - it took nearly an hour between our first and second dishes, despite only ordering two items. The food was utterly unremarkable, and what we received for the "spicy sour hotpot" was shockingly disappointing. For 420,000 VND, I expected a hearty and delicious hot pot. Instead, I was served a pitiful array of ingredients that could barely pass for a single portion - a few shrimp, some squid, a thin slice of fish, and a handful of small clams. The service was abysmal. After waiting over 30 minutes for the hot pot to arrive, that using the alcohol burner would take too long to heat, so they had to take it back to the kitchen to pre-heat the ingredients. Начну не с самых приятных впечатлений, а именно когда ты приходишь в «ресторан», официанты стоят возле входа к тебе спиной и никто не хочет встретить тебя и посадить за свободный стол, даже высматривая глазами - никто не обращает на тебя внимания. Может это так принято, но хотелось бы минимальной гостеприимности. Замечу что некоторые официанты не владеют базовым английским, с переводчиком в телефоне общаться тоже желания не сильно имеют. Так как по итогу хотели дозаказать блюдо, официант вроде бы принял заказ, но блюдо мы так и не увидели.

Стол за который нас посадили был не убран, официант протер его и вынес ложки с тарелками. На столе как оказалось в дальнейшем не было даже салфеток, в меню много мясных блюд и наличие зубочисток тоже не помешало бы. Если вы подаете креветок или что-то что можно есть руками, то почему бы не дать одноразовых перчаток по желанию к этим блюдам?

Про меню - оно разнообразное и очень красивое, есть блюда на разный бюджет, не могу сказать что все блюда очень дорогие. К самим блюдам никаких претензий нет, все очень вкусно и стоит своих денег. Но не самое приятное в меню - цены указаны без налога. Извините, но мне как туристу совсем не понятно ценообразование с налогами или включенными чаевыми, возможно это покажется грубым - но я не знаток местного налогооблажения, хотелось бы знать правила игры. (В конечном итоге в чеке у меня были и 8% и 10%) Блюда в меню я заметил на трех языках: вьетнамский, английский и русский. На первой странице описание ресторана только на двух.

В целом это хорошее и перспективное место, но очень хочется чтобы этот отзыв был именно полезен для работы...
